Thank you for your review. American here and was completely blown away by this film. Vijay Sethupathi is probably my favorite Indian actor and he didn’t disappoint here. I particularly appreciated that the “victim” is given voice and agency in confronting the assailant. It was dealt with a level of dignity that brought the film up to another level.

Nicely made video. However I disagree with the Sandeep Reddy versus SLB thematic comparison. Not a fan of Heeramandi but I don't see how it glorifies prostitution when it really is about tawaifs who were forced into prostitution. Could the show have focused more on their artistry and participation in the freedom struggle? Sure. Does it really encourage the activity of prostitution through cheap tactics? No. Animal on the other hand stoops really low in every aspect and has zero redemption for anyone.

The movie broke the stereotype of a leading hero to be morally and ethically correct, who can't do anything wrong way back in the 90s and introduced us to the antagonist who is spere heading the film who has Grey shades which was quite shocking for its time and today its a cult film
