Sorry you had to do this, this is helping to convince me that I shouldn't buy this vehicle right now.

I find when my EV6 gt-line sits in the sun all day when I'm at work it starts off with horrible range when I crank the AC. Once I drive and the car cools down my range seems to go back to normal.

So… the Guess-o-Meter speculated that a 100% charge would give you 284 miles when you departed, but estimated a 100% charge would only give you 259 miles when you ended -25 miles less. Sounds about right, and typical with EVs. Those discrepancies have been the "norm" with the 3 EVs I've owned over the last 13 years.
@Yanquetino18 күн бұрын
Yup. This is also the case in my Ioniq 5. I'll see that light come on once in a while, especially when I've been using power from the 12V battery (playing music?) while parked and not plugged in. It's nice to be able to see that happen, as my previous two EVs gave no indication when and if it was happening.

I haven’t searched for anything even remotely related to this, but the algorithm suggested it anyways. I stayed for the whole thing and was gripped the entire time. 10/10

Hello Can you tell me how to open the car if the key is left in the cabin and the battery is dead? The car just arrived from America and I don’t know how to get inside
@WilmingtonEVАй бұрын
How did they get the car from the transporters to you? How did they lock the keys inside. The car will not allow you to lock keys in the car. Try to lift gate in the back and see if that will open. Replace the battery. Not sure if there is a manual front truck release. Sorry but you will probably need to call a lock smith

01:00 - 3.1 kW per mile is terrible! Perhaps you meant 3.1 miles per kW.

I just got mine two weeks ago and car was parked at work when I got in the orange light was already on when I started the car it went off. Is it normal for that to happen I always thought it would come light up when the car is on only …
@WilmingtonEVАй бұрын
The cars will manage the battery and will charge the 12 volt system from the high voltage battery when it gets low. You will see it come on from time to time as the EV regulates the battery level
@mikes6853Ай бұрын
@@WilmingtonEVso that’s a yes the light comes on when the car is on or off all depend on 12v SOC…
@JWFasАй бұрын
It's only supposed to charge the 12V battery while the car is off. FYI, consider replacing your 12V battery at around the two year mark or 20k miles, whichever comes first. The OEM 12V lead acid battery is cheap, so it dies fairly quickly. Replace it with a 12V AGM battery size H5 (Group 47). Walmart sells them for $180.
@WilmingtonEVАй бұрын
With the ICCU update I no longer see the light come on during driving around. Now it only comes on with off and high voltage battery is charging 12v. It definitely will come on if you just have the auxiliary power on for a 5 to 10 minutes

Nice work and you kept it interesting. Noticed the TPMS warning. Did you find out which tire(s) were low? Can you post what the pressure was? Do you think that affected your average kW usage? TIA and keep up the great work!
@WilmingtonEV2 ай бұрын
The pressure was a bit low and may have had a slight effect on range, but I stopped 5 times, so it was really not an issue. The KIA has an onboard monitor, and I could have stopped to adjust the pressure, but I didn't
@scottadams11192 ай бұрын
@@WilmingtonEVUnderstood. It's crazy that there's actually no way to adjust the TPMS on an EV6 like most vehicles. The only way to cancel the warning is to over inflate the tire(s) ~40lbs. and drive if for a little while until it goes out and then set the pressure to the normal amount. You'd think that would be a no-brainer with all of its, well, brains. Thanks again for the great videos! 👌

Thats not bad actually. The way the vehicle optimizes the energy is crazy. I drove 450 miles from cali to Az and my kw per mile was 1.7 - 2.0 pretty bad considering i got a RWD long range model,

How come you didnt go with a long range model if you were going to be doing roadtrips instead of the performance?

Since you are new to EVs, may I suggest a Tesla Model Y Performance? MUCH more efficient, longer range, and oh so fun to drive. There's track mode, where you can change the power bias from axle to axle, set presets for drifting, racing, etc.., and keep an eye on the heat build up on your battery, tires, brakes, and motors. The sound system rocks, all glass roof, carbon fiber spoiler, large brembo brakes, and slightly lowered. The best part of buying- no dealer markup.. "oh, this is a hot car and therefore we have to add a couple thousand.. blah blah") You don't have to pay for EVERY. SINGLE. OPTION. like legacy manufacturers. There are three trims: standard range, Dual motor, and performance. If you choose the Performance model (as I did), you automatically get the highest-spec options, with the exception of paint color, seat color, and Autopilot software. (it comes standard with regular autopilot) I got mine for 42,890 out the door!

Since LFP batteries are more stable, they can be charged to 100% for daily driving (and, Tesla recommends it!)
