Bedankt for this introduction! We Brits are often told to think of the soft 'ch' of the Scots (as in loch) when pronouncing Dutch 'g', but it does sound somewhat harder. Also wondered how differently 'g' and 'ch' are pronounced. Ok, as I thought, it's roughly the same. Then today the train guard on approach to Utrecht said 'You-trekt'😮. Words and placenames ending 'en' is a difficult one for me - some people say the 'n', some don't. Now I'm in Holland, it's even more fascinating. No one here says s'-Gravenhage - I'm disappointed!😅

The formal Goedendag is exactly the same as the Australian formal G’day and the other even more formal Australian one is G’day mate ! Not many people know that .

Thank you for the words and pronunciation instruction. I just hope I'm not using jeukende uitslag and misselijkheid every day, or something's wrong.

I find Dutch difficult to learn with two main things: 1/ the word order and it seems that main idea comes at the end. 2/ Lots of combinations based on what you want to say.

Hopefully, Indonesians can watch this video because this is a legacy of Dutch colonialism in Indonesia from 1600s to 1949 just like in the Philippines where Spanish and English are spreading it everywhere 😊😊
