7:14... Yes! Care through all the the ages! I went to a Speak Out Virtual ED Talk: "Trauma-Informed Pedagogy: Creating Safe Learning Environments with Dr. Stacey Patton." Stacey Patton thinks so well about "emerging adults," people in the 18-27 range as she teaches at Morgan State and Howard University. She is an author and journalist too. As an early childhood person I tend to think in the language of care more than trauma, but looking at the big picture, at where we are in social history, in ecological dis-relation, and we can see that the care we do goes beyond what it would be in a more intact and healthy world.

I so enjoy these Play Check-Ins. Thank you for posting them. They are valuable and thought provoking. So much to respond to. I love Peter Gray's passion for Sudbury and Unschooling, but worry that our passions sometimes lead to a rigidity in what is "best" for children, that we become so focused on the magical thinking of one theory or another that we fail to remember that connection and true attachment are also contributing factors to learning success regardless of the pedagogy or program a child or young person is in. All that said, I love that Anji play makes room for child-driven learning and play while also balancing connections with the teachers. I LOVE it! Thank you!

I will show this to my class of 3 year-olds here in Guanzhou. I think they will enjoy watching it and hopefully it motivates some of them. Joyful clean up!

你好。 在学校中只有基于游戏的教育吗? 上课了吗?

Hi Ercan! In Anji Play schools, children's self-directed play is the primary activity in the school day. There are no formal lessons. If you would like to learn more we suggest you visit our website. In particular, www.anjiplay.com/guide.

It helps me to know Anji Play deeply. Anji Play is the true play! It gives children the right to learn by themselves, not to obey adult's rulers.

Fantastic! I'm newer to the study of Anji Play, and I love Dr. Jones's enthusiastic descriptions. It took me years of work, often feeling very alone in it, to come to my teaching methods today. I can feel so much camaraderie in this! Thank you. -Heather

This conversation was so great! Thank you for sharing it. I am falling down the rabbit hole. I came to this after watching the Play First Summit. I am inspired by Ms. Cheng's talk and have implemented the hands down approach in my own teaching. Good grief, I miss it!
