@@CoastalNomad May 11, 1942, and all thirty-seven crewmen aboard were lost. Only four bodies were recovered. They were laid to rest on Ocracoke in a tiny plot considered the smallest Commonwealth War Graves Commission grave site in the world.

I actually moved a covered bridge off the river for repairs then we rolled it back on the Arthur Davis covered bridge Cole Rain Ma . Wish I had my smart phone in 2007 we did take some pics but I don’t know who has them

Who did you work for? I repaired bridges for Cianbro and Corman. Was working for Chesapeake structures when I broke my back on the Rappahannock in 2014. After 6 tours in Iraq and Afghanistan I come home to get all messed up. Go figure

They could use bigger logs to build it what I mean by bigger wider girth wise then you can burn it on the outside and paint/seal it with Rubber that hardens its alot les toxic and safer for the environment or Just use steel problem solved!!!...😊

👍 Quality workmanship.👍 That smell comes straight back to me just hearing that word. Lt. Col. Kilgore: "Creosote son. I love the smell of creosote in the morning, smells like skin burns, eye damage & cancer."
