THANK YOU FOR THIS! I have the exact same range! The only difference is the thermostat knob (mine is Robertshaw) and FW produced mine (was my grandparent's) for Fuelane Corp in PA, which sold propane and their tagline was "Happy Cooking" the logo of which is on the Thermometer instead of "Bengal". Happy to exchange info and I'm searching for the owner's manual. That firebox grate is designed to flip from coal or wood use. The flipper is the silver knob in front behind door. Mine is frozen on wood. There are not many of these surviving as they were SOOO heavy! Hope to see your next video. Now I'll record my work!

Our family business sold Bengal stoves. We had a large furniture and appliance store in Stamford Connecticut. We sold many appliances we belong to a large buying group in the area which had a large Warehouse. We are no longer in business about 40 years ago. It is really sad to find Bengal is no longer in business. I know times change but we should start making more products in this country.

So...we have the identical stove, saved from a house being demolished in Elizabethown, PA. It has been our everyday stove for 10 years. Do you happen to know where or how we can repair chips to the porcelain white finish? There is a chip in each cover (one on the gas side, one on the wood / coal side) that I would love to make disappear. Love the stove. Once recalibrated, the oven keeps better temperature than our brand new one did, and, with occasional cleaning, it works wonderfully on propane or wood (never tried coal)....

Look under the gas burner lid. My stove's plate is in the back right corner under the lid where the gas burners are for the stove top.

I agree some places 90% isn't good enough, if you're driving you have to be beyond 100%, you have to watch out for other crazy drivers; if you're doing heart surgery you need to be 100%, one death out of 100 is still a tragedy; in space flight calculation an error of 0.01% can mean light years of difference

Argument best presented by Jack Stamp, Director of Bands at Indiana University (Pennsylvania). Forever proving the demand and rewards Music Education offers all who participate. The Greeks believed muaic was a core subject all students should learn. I cannot emphasize the importance of enriching you lives with music or an artistic outlet.

This is just of enterest. It's interesting to note that in the words of famous trumpet player John Ware of the NY Philharmonic" many conductors today wouldn't know a clam AKA mistake because they are so used to players that have such a high skill level that they expect musicians to play as perfect as a recording every time." The interesting thing is that most recordings today get corrected by the sound engineer by re-recording and correcting the mistakes during the recording session. This makes it a challenge for the live musician to live up to. And although it's true that many professions require the same kind of skill level whether it be a mason or a surgeon rarely does the musician get compensated for that equal kind of skill level. So a my opinion the conductor teacher in the KZfaq clip is correct as in some areas of study there can be some leeway on the finished work but that's never the case when a musician is playing a piece of music that must be performed exactly as the composer intended every time without exception.

We are ruining our kids with participation trophies, and passing them for wrong answers, but at least they tried. Yoda was right, there is no try, there is only do or do not. No better explanation of why we need music in our schools could be given than this conductor's effective example. Thank you, sir!

Just had a strange experience in UK where in an interview for the job of music theory marker, I was pulled up for marking down an answer in a theory paper which gave the key signature for F major as having a clearly defined Ab. Needless to say I did not get the job. God help us all. What is going on?
@ericstuewe389
@ericstuewe389 9 жыл бұрын
starlightlake Yeah, F major has an A-natural. If you want an A-flat, that would be f minor
@starlightlake9666
@starlightlake9666 9 жыл бұрын
There is no key signature with just an A-flat that I know of in western music. The key signature for F major is B-flat The key signature for F minor is B-flat, E-flat, A-flat, D-flat The chord of Fmajor consists of the notes F, A, C The chord of F minor consists of the notes F, A-flat, C
@ericstuewe389
@ericstuewe389 9 жыл бұрын
starlightlake Ah. Perhaps it was in a different clef? For instance, tenor clef has middle C on the line that is a B in treble clef, and thus it could be the clef. For a B-flat in tenor clef is on the space an A-flat would be in treble.
@starlightlake9666
@starlightlake9666 9 жыл бұрын
Good point and well spotted, however the question on the paper was in the treble or G clef and the paper was Grade I theory. If the clef indicated in the question had been in the alto clef then yes indeed, the placing of the flat sign on the second space up of the stave or staff would have been accurate. The position of B-flat in the tenor clef is on the third space up of the stave or staff.

Who cares who originally created this message. There are valid points and lets say a pilot, a musician, a surgeon didn't practice beyond 100% to be the very best then why do we go listen to the best? We should support going beyond the basics and learn to achieve the best in the U.S.A for we have no excuse.
@fiddlercrab3
@fiddlercrab3 11 жыл бұрын
Furthermore, Jim, your argument is fatally flawed. If we accept that there is no such thing as a perfect performance but also accept "that a pass grade is 100%", then we are staring a contradiction in the face. The whole point of the video is that most assessments, especially standardized tests, do a terrible job of accurately measuring student comprehension and achievement in real-world terms.
