I wish this character would have more screen time.

To be fair, the whole 'Bully Maguire' thing was a really good idea, because it was showing how the symbiote was changing Spider-Man. It was just also hilarious and very meme-able. But it was a genius move in a... less than stellar movie.

The thing that’s really interesting about this ridiculous part is it actually does give you a perfect idea of why this black suit needs to go because you now see it actually affecting his personality, something is really does do in the comics. I think if they had introduced the black suit and left it at that, that could be a great idea, but then when you add the whole Eddie Brock gets it nonsense, that’s where you loose your plot here

Not a fan of how everyone in this video sort of back-handedly insulted Tobey the entire time, but he handled it with class.

It makes it even funnier that Tobey is supposed to be sort of a scumbag in real life and probably more like Bully.

the whole idea of it being basically "Peter isnt exactly the most Socially adept person." so having him do these out-of-date, sort of "Rocker Bully at School" kinda moves and going all-in on making it look like he really thought it was cool was genious. after growing up and understanding those kinds of things better, the moves and all actually makes sense to Peter's Character.

This show will forever hold a special place in my heart. I love the risk they took, telling a more mature story. It just came at the wrong time, if this was out now I think it’d have went on longer. What are you guys thoughts?

My head-canon since the shift in attitude is that Bully Maguire was the socially awkward, nerdy Peter Parker's idea of a cool, hardboiled, badass mfer who actually cares less about others, kinda like Bruce Banner's Joe Fixit persona, but much less self-aware and a lot more caricature. The cringe and second-hand embarrassment we all initially felt as he danced his way out of that building and strutted pointing at women was the intended reaction; Bully Maguire didn't care if we thought he was uncool, so long as HE THINKS that *he* is cool. AND THAT is what the symbiote is going for; the less conscious, less concerned, and less self-control Peter has, the easier the alien goo assimilates and takes over his entire being. Dude was inherently kind and had a naturally strong willpower, which is why the symbiote opted to overwrite his personality overtime, unlike with Eddie Brock, who already has insecurity, selfishness and dark intentions. again, just my head-canon.
