I would like to have an R6 set up for me to get back on two. My issue is that the only thing I can't seem to find is the electric stabilizers. It would be cool if Pingel made a complete kit. Are those custom built or is there a place that I can order them from?

I built this kit from scratch, it wasn’t particularly difficult, just some bent tube, bearing blocks and an electric actuator.

Excellent trip, a great one to put in the log book. Did you get any P2 time? We looked at the 2 seaters this weekend at Headcorn at the Battle of Britain airshow weekend....one to consider...!

Yes Mark, the stick needs very little input to get a reaction in roll or pitch. Its about 20 inches long and slight fingertip input is enough, lots of leverage.

@@R1FREESTYLE yes, if you fly a few other types you see how heavy and steady the controls are on Shadows. Closest type I've flown was actually the Tiger Moth. Harvard is similar to the Spitfire I imagine, long throw controls for leverage, but very light and balanced for general flying, but heavier for aerobatics.

Yes, it felt so light in the Spitfire that you might not be able to fly hands off for long periods. The pilot said it can be done.

@@R1FREESTYLE yes, trim is your friend. I could never fly hands off with the Shadow, but can often with Jab number 2. It also uses much less fuel than the previous one. I'd imagine we'd get a years flying for the fuel burn of a short Spitfire trip!

Lol - I just got myself a Seagull Silver Century manufactured in April 1971 as well . . . mayhaps they sat on the shelf together for while? I'm having issues getting water circulation going - I'm going to try and flush it out with a garden hose.
