Generally speaking, any cafe at a tourist attraction like that is going to disappoint. Being Canadian, though, I just can't get my mind around mushy peas. Although I hate peas to begin with. There are fish and chip shops here that sell it, but I will never order it. 🤢
@GreenoEatsСағат бұрын
There are some tourist places that embrace the fact their guests will likely want to eat, and provide something decent (see my previous video about the Eden Project for example) this place is not one if them. I know that mushy peas are one of those quirky British foods nobody else gets, a bit like beans on toast. However my Hungarian wife was grown to love them. Maybe it’s Stockholm Syndrome ha ha!

There is no excuse for dirty cutlery or dirty tables. The food looks awful, Greeno, I am surprised you managed to eat some of it. The location is very expensive to visit. I looked up the admission, seventy plus pounds for an adult and child is outrageous, for those prices you would think they could hire staff to clean the place. Thanks for taking one for the team. As always, it was a great review.

Frozen lasagna, frozen fries, frozen bread, frozen pre-cooked fish, all garbage. With a captive audience they can serve what they want. What is worse is the dirty tables and utensils. Your a captive audience, and get taken advantage of. Should you bring the faults to the attention of the management? Well yes I think you should. ( will he or she give a stuff 🤔er no they won't) Is it in house catering or outside caterers? Thought your plate was possessed, spinning around like Linda Blair's in the movie ". As a young person earning some extra money I used to work at a motorway service station , back in the day they had restaurants not fast food joints. Their attention to detail was exceptional with hygiene being a priority , something that seems to have been lost in translation with today's generation. Did you happen to notice their hygiene rating ? Maybe this is something you should be looking at.
@GreenoEats3 сағат бұрын
I didn't notice the hygiene rating - which probably means it wasn't displayed that prominently... the worry I would have is if that little care and attention is paid to the front of house, there's little chance that the back rooms are any better!!

Theses sort of in-park restaurants are invariably crap. Captive audience, couldn't care less about returning customers so they just fleece you. KZfaq won't let me reply to your comment for some reason. So, Lockwoods frozen mushy peas are widely available I think. My missus gets them from farm foods but I think Tesco and Iceland sell them as well. They take a fair old bit of simmering with added water but are worth the effort IMO.
