I didn’t know to do this last year. But I will be doing it this year because although it grew well my celery was bitter and tough last year. Thanks for this video!

@hersheyqueenlisa I hope it helps! Majority of my celery is preserved for soups/stews etc for the winter- so this makes it softer for doing that. Good luck :)

Do they grow true to the mother plant?
@ontariogardeningАй бұрын
They cross-pollinate easily, so if you plant the seed collected from a parent snapdragon, the resulting child plant is not guaranteed to be true to type, and the color of the flowers might be completely different.

I have considered fishing line in the past for longevity and durability, but my fear is that it's too strong and would cut/scrape/damage my plants. Would love someone who's tried it to weigh in!

Boxers are smart. Instead of training the plants you can train the dog where he's allowed to go! LOL I trained our lab/pit mix he wasn't allowed to go on cars, garden area's, or the wooden pergola. EDIT I hope that didn't sound rude, I was just letting people know that it is possible

Do you have a video or tips for planting these seeds?
@ontariogardening3 ай бұрын
I do not- but honestly, it is super easy! You can start inside 6-8 weeks before your last frost date. If you don't start seeds inside, no problem- sow seeds outside about 5cm deep once your last frost has passed (they like warmer temps). Keep the soil moist and you should have a sprout within 2 weeks :) I would plant multiple seeds per hole to make sure you get good germination and you can either keep them as small clusters (like you see in this video), or you can thin them out after they sprout with a pair of scissors. I hope that helps!

@ontariogardening3 ай бұрын
Thank you so much! Which area of southern Ontario? Maybe we are neighbours! Once you plant them, they're super easy. Make sure they stay watered, and fertilizer every once in a while :) they are perennial, meaning they will grow back every year; make sure in the winter to heavily mulch them (I use straw), and then a tarp Overtop works great as extra insulation. Uncover in spring. Hope that helps you! But yes.. I can do a full video for sure!

Hi. I'm in Ontario as well. I purchased a Camp Chef Denali Pro 3 burner at Costco. It can be easily assembled ( I dud it myself). Keep your eyes opened for it. I got it for under $200.00 taxes included. I love it. I do my pressure canning with no issues. As a matter of fact, you can easily put two large All American canners on the Camp Chef with no problem. The entire set up works wonderfully well outdoors and eliminates any excess heat in your kitchen.
