Western Australia was one of the warmest states in Aussie along with the Northern Territory and Queensland which is billed as the sunshine state (Though Brisbane had colder nights).

I grew up in the area. My grampa and mum worked at Graylands Hospital. My Grampa was an electrician there. Mum only worked there for a little while. Horrible to see the place so vandalised.

Thank you so much Russell Goodrick for telling the story that so many of us go through each and every day. Perhaps someday soon we will actually have leaders that will stop just handing out the telephone number for Lifeline and start doing something to fix the vile and disgusting system that is Family Law in Australia.

I worked there from early 1970s to 1980s just before it closed . That was mainly the stores area and the administration area that staircase was lined with polished jarrah boards all the way up. the building with the big vaulted ceiling is where they would hold movies etc. and at that time the males only looked after the male patients and the females had a seperate nursing admin area only looking after the females.

My mum worked there from the 1960's to it closed. Maybe you knew her Paula Bolvig, everyone called her Lisa.

I worked there in 1979 as a male RN and worked in a female psycho-geriatric ward (? Inglewood) for a few weeks during my 8 month employment there. I don't remember all of the ward names (named after Perth suburbs alphabetically), but I remember Ardross, Belmont, Calista, Dalkeith (upper and lower), Embleton, can't remember the F, Guildford, Highgate, Inglewood, Jolimont, K ?, Leederville, Manning.

+Camilla Bourne Hi Camilla! Thanks for getting in touch. We are actually not sure if this is Anthony. We originally thought it was someone else and was corrected by a couple of comments. So the mystery deepens... If you want to email me at [email protected], I will pass on details to Russell. Thanks!
