Do you have any specific suggestions/sources for working with Nyx? I'm trying to write a book, but it's so heavily UPG that I'm not sure if I want to publish it.

@@KitsuScholarMC unfortunately because Nyx is a primordial she remains more enigmatic and isn’t featured heavily in primary Greek sources.

Hwllo I love your content as a new starter and I was wondering where you got the theus statue and if it matters in what language I communicate with the deity. I am multilingual and was wondering if I should talk to my deity in my First language (so german) or the one I am most comfortable with (english)

Is that figurine made from resin or porcelain?

If you had two of the same statue and one was consecrated but one was not, could you tell the difference?
@purplerose212428 күн бұрын
I'm not sure the best way to explain how i understand it but here's my best shot. You know how when you receive something from someone or buy something it doesn't feel like a natural part of your life and home for a little while? Its new and settled in after awhile? Cleansing is supposed to strip that "energy" off of it (pouring water on it is how she cleansed it). The energy from other people touching it is washed away and is more ready for your energy. And you consecrate it to show the god "hey, this is for you" and- to put it simply- "assign its purpose". This is religious stuff tho and religion is different among cultures and regions. This is just how i personally interpret these practices using simplified less esoteric words.

it was so nice hearing someone pronounce hecate the proper way instead of the weird anglicised HECK atee way

phoneme shifts are a normal part of lexicalization

@@partyinthecloudkingdom i know that but i feel like names, the names of gods especially, have a right to be preserved yknow? feels like a matter of respect to those who have them. especially when putting the stress on the syllable it was intended to be on is something Everyone is capable of.

Greek coffee.... Greek coffee which is literally turkish coffee that got integrated into greeks after 400years of greeks being enslaved to the ottoman empire (aka turks). Which was in 16th century, while hecate was before christ. How lovely. Well as an offering to her, at the last night of the month, they used to leave the so called "Hecates' feasts" (aka with their faces turned away from the action, they would drop the leftovers of cleansing rituals) so that evil spirits and beings would be kept away.

To me it seems like they practice some form of the ancient hellenistic religion originating in ancient greece, or it might be more witchcraft related, as this person seems to view themselves as a witch since they used #witch, and Hecate is a goddess of magic
