One of his earliest TV appearances. Before that he did a lot of theater and stand up.

This is a bugger to sing without getting your tongue in a twist. He nails it completely. Stupendous. Tips you can take from the way he does it - do not take too many breaths and sing very lightly on the "front" of the voice with your diction right on the tip of your tongue.

Aloha, I remember this show. So happy it popped up; you got me laughing out loud throughout the whole show. Genius improv. I saw Fred Willard in NYC at an improv club, could have been Bud Freeman’s, before he made it big. Martin Mull is hilarious. All the guests are brilliant. Bravo👏🏼🤣🥇😂.

So, uhm,... did Paul Shaffer partly build his career on riffing off of and developing Frank De Vol's Happy Kyne---? Sure looks like it from here. Anywho, this is still good, solid parody and satire. At that, it's even more out on the comedy tangent than MH2 for Lear. Also, long after this was made, I did a bunch of public access TV, so it all makes a lot more sense to me. Gorgeous, really.

Martin Mull was so brilliantly dismissive. One of his trademarks as a comedian. He does his magic here at 8:52 when he says “that’s fascinating” to the girls. Haha.

Show was ahead of it's time. How much of the show was scripted, we'll never know. The writers were amazing, Martin & Fred were definitely Masters of improvision.

The funny thing about the man in the iron lung is that in reality the person would have to be up to their neck in it, so that the pressure in the iron lung could act on the lungs, allowing the person to breathe in and out. Thankfully, the iron lung was replaced by the ventilator.

We used those "tables" for our dinners while watching tv. Ah, the 70's. Mull and Willard did a great job entertaining us, and of course Happy Kyne and the Mirthmakers - you could do a lot worse lol Willard's deadpan delivery was the best.
