I think it's more because summons are abused by whales which build hates in the community that birth the statement "summons are braindead". It's not really summoners fault but people are traumatized by level 18 summons destroying them

@usualxgamer the whole concept of "whales" and "brain dead play" use of ANY card is false perception too. 1. If someone is at a higher level than you, then they will be able to beat you more easily. That's not "abuse." It's only a poor match-up automated by the game algorithm. No one enjoys time-wasting easy WINS either. 2. It doesn't matter how they got to that level. Some players have a ton of time. Others have money to invest in the game. 3. Free-to-Play players are NOT more respectable. The game simply can't exist without those who pay. If we want to play for free, then we have to accept the limitations... just like if we don't play all the other parts of the game. 4. Just because someone else acquired the newest or strongest card first does not mean they are using it for "brain dead play." Every single echo, companion, and card can be called "brain dead" if they get to the higher level first. 5. It takes time to learn the new cards. Those that get them first may appear less skilled and are not using them effectively... in the beginning. By the time everyone else gets the same cards, they have learned about the widely shared best new combos and strategies... that they never worked out for themselves... and use them as if they're just master gamers. 6. Unless you personally know someone in real life, then no one knows how or why someone is playing. No one can judge who deserves to be able to win or lose. Should young, healthy, sharp eyed, quick-fingered players be dismissed because "they have it easier?" Should someone that only has one or two hours a day to play be dismissed as a "bad player?" What about someone that has all day and night to play, but still can't manage to level up on their own? What about someone who's disabled and maybe needs to "spend a little extra" just to be able to keep up with their friends? What about those who just are lucky enough to pay for everything the game offers? Should anyone have to limit themselves? Let's enjoy the diversity.

@mariekaren4295 Agree. Though I have to say promoting this game is hard now that people have a hard time catching up so it's hard to get in newbies

@usualxgamer That's just the nature of any on-going game. No newbies should expect to be able to quickly play with higher level players... unless they want to buy up into it. Meanwhile, the main reason this game is not (yet) wildly popular has more to do with the fact that the managers and developers decided to release it while it is basically still in beta. Those of us who got here early have been unpaid testers... or worse, paying for it. That's another reason not to put down the "whales." Without them, the game would've died long ago. Just take a look at the shock the makers of Hogwarts Legacy had in its success and only now are ABLE to invest in the resources to properly improve that game. I still have a theory that Magic Awakened is the beta test ground for Hogwarts Legacy, too. I suspect they didn't know which type of game would succeed. I suspect they thought Magic Awakened would only attract young players by using the Anime angle, which is why a lot of the costumes were so wildly not Potter styles, and the annoying hyper-active "protect the children" chat censorship... as just two examples. Meanwhile, Hogwarts Legacy was more realistic in appearance and has darker storylines, etc. Nonetheless, BOTH games are still only just starting to invest enough to get it fully developed. So... I'm staying tuned in.

We are complaining because this game favors the Beast Deck Lovers. We Spell Casters hardly get any new powerful cards.
