There's a 1997 sci-fi series, "Dark Skies" with Eric Close, Megan Ward and Jeri Ryan, in which one episode, "Dark Days Night," deals with this legendary performance by the Beatles, because the evil "Hive" group wants to use this by millions of Americans seen tv-show, to put their plans for world domination into action. A rather amusing part of this unfortunately only 20 episodes long TV series.

Good choices! I love those guys. Musically, they had some of the top songwriters of the era along with the wrecking crew until their third album when they took more control. They continued to have great songwriters and Mike stands tall next to them as a songwriter. I got to see them several times, but never all four together.

I've loved the Monkees since I was 11 years old, when the TV show premiered in 1966. It's difficult to pick a favorite Monkees song; the big hits mean a lot to me, but I also love less well known album cuts. I still have my albums I bought with allowance money when I was 12 or 13. My favorite band always.

The Eleanor Rigby grave according to Paul McCartney was only when he realized much later co'incidental to the name of the song he had written..he had the name Eleanor, but only came up with Rigby when walking past a hat shop in Bristol one day...the hat shop name was 'Rigby's'...I have seen the interview where he says this to be true....but maybe he was advised by Epstein to make this up so he wouldn't get hassled for Royalties from the Rigby family, who knows?

For a long time my favorite Beatles song was Hey Jude. In fact the first record I ever bought was a 45 rpm single of Hey Jude/Revolution after seeing them perform Hey Jude on TV. In 1970 I bought The Beatles Again which featured Hey Jude so that was my favorite Beatles album for a while. That song is still in my top five Beatle songs but for many years my favorite Beatles song has been Strawberry Fields Forever. I love the lyrics and all of the strange psychedelic sounds in it. I Am The Walrus is another one that is in my top five favorite Beatle songs.

I was 12 when this record came out and though I remember seeing the music video for Sentimental Journey on the Ed Sullivan Show it wasn't one that I bought at the time. I had a limited budget and was busy collecting Abbey Road, Beatles Again/AKA Hey Jude (an American compilation album released in February 1970), McCartney, and Let It Be which were all coming out one right after another over about six months. It was hard to keep up. I have listened to it since and it's quite a charming album. It certainly didn't deserve the drubbing it took from the critics at the time.

Wonderwall is a fine album. There are a few tracks I don't like much but I like most of the Indian tracks as well as Red Lady Too, Party Seacombe, and Ski-ing. Part of it was recorded in London with the Remo Four as well as Eric Clapton and Ringo Starr.
