I love my SABIAN 11" AAX X-Plosion Splash cymbal for my cajon hybrid set up. With hands or nylon rods/brushes, as the name states, it EXPLODES and is perfect for Cajon hybrid setups. Check it out!

Would sound better with more range of sound.. with snare wires underneath at the outside edges. Sound ok but seems quite " dry "

It occurred to me after watching this a few times (and I'm a complete cajon beginner) that he's sliding his hands down the face after the 'high' hits. It gave me the impression of slowly closing a hi-hat. Is that intentional/a technique?

When you say “we want try to keep them even” while adjusting the lug nuts, do you mean “even” as far as the tension or torque needed to turn the lug nuts, or do you mean even by the number of rotations each lug nut makes around the lug bolts? I have a cheap set, and in order to get equal torque needed to turn the lug nuts, they are most definitely not equal when it comes to number of rotations on the bolt itself. And vice versa.
