If I interviewed John Glen , one question I would ask is > " After watching one of the most suspenseful opening sequences in the series ( the twin killers chasing 009 in East Berlin ) in Octopussy , how could you allow Bond to swing on a vine and yell like Tarzan " ? I`d love to hear his answer.

Great Interview and film. up there with "Hollywood Bulldogs" of a sadly dying age of British Stuntman. It has been my privilege to have worked for and along side Vic a number of times, as a performer and Stunt Co for Him. Thank you for posting this up.

I loved him in that was shown on JRTV back in the 80s. He was ruthless as Aris, and quite the villain in The Last Crusade. Quite the onscreen presence.

Most proific stuntman in recent times : his resumé speaks for itself and has been part of so many movie franchises - Indiana Jones, James Bond, Jack Ryan, Superman, Rambo and that's before one factors in standalone features, TV Shows and countless others - good to see he's got so many memories : 👍.

Not surprised that Mr Robert John Davi was cast as Franz Sanchez : despite being a fictional character, the likes of Manuel Noriega and Pablo Escobar et al, come to mind in terms of the influence both men once had. Davi was so convincing as Sanchez, a real life criminal praised him (he was kidnapped - allegedly) for his performance, he's so versatile as an actor, good guys like Agent Johnson in "Die Hard" and many others are part of his resumè. I like his down to earth personality as he refers to some of his friends and colleagues by first or last names : this is someone I'd like to be in the company of in a social occasion - gets my vote.

I always misremember the scene where Roger kicks the car as not having had the kick. I actually think it would have been better the way Roger wanted to do it.

Great conversation! The living daylights will always have a special place in my heart because it was the first Bond-movie I saw in a movie theatre. John has directed two more of my favourites; Octopussy and For your eyes only.

John Glen is great. What a down-to-earth, humble man. He is so underrated as a director and contributed so much to the James Bond series.

Mr Glen defined the on-screen James Bond - the fairytale-like out-of-this-world adventures of Roger Moore vs down to earth, dark and violent escapades of Timothy Dalton. This man is much more important than any of us think.

Have a look at the world is not enough DVD extra called bond downriver , its here on you tube. I think that shows the accident he mentioned he had in the boat while being filmed for the electronic pres kit at 40:53. Much respect to Gary Powell and all stunt performers old and newer .
