I have Axon2 and found it to be of limited use. The rhythms it produces tend not to be very exciting, and it doesn't integrate well into a workflow with other instruments. I guess it depends on whether you like generative drum patterns or prefer to have more control. Axon 3, despite the new features, looks like inherits these limitations.
@oscilop4 күн бұрын
Yeah, it's definitely limited and not a synth that will suit you if you want control. This one is all about experimentation and see what comes out.

Fors makes some great stuff, been using their max for live devices for over a year now and very little compares to it in the sea of unremarkable m4l instruments. So for any windows+ableton users like myself i highly vouch for checking their devices out

@AgrumeAcid2 ай бұрын
A really interesting project, I own version 0-32-0 which I don't know if it's the latest one, I canceled the subscription because unfortunately everything only works with shortcuts and my cheap keyboard has a strange layout that doesn't correspond to the standard, so half of the shortcuts don't work for me and you still can't do many things with the mouse, so for me it was impossible to really have fun with this DAW and I don't feel like paying for something that I can't use at the moment... but I can understand its potential, I'm keeping an eye on it, I really hope to see progress and to be able to use it and to be able to reactivate the subscription.
@oscilop2 ай бұрын
Yeah, I agree that many things are keyboard dependent. I suggested to the developer to add few buttons so maybe in the future it will be easier to work with just a mouse. 😊

Imagine if you could see the content of the 6 pages at the same time!
@oscilop3 ай бұрын
I'd be against that. I enjoy being in focused control in page by page layout with not too many things staring at me at the same time. 😊
@PanopticMotion3 ай бұрын
@@oscilop To each his own. Even though this synth sound wonderful, it's desing goes again UX principles, immediacy, and creativity. Hiding content makes untinutive too. Fors will be marginalized.
@oscilop3 ай бұрын
@@PanopticMotion I'm a UX designer. There's no such principle that says you have to cram everything into one page. In fact, the opposite might be true as when you expose more than 6 controls to a person there is a paralysis of choice and more difficult comprehension. I do understand where you're coming from with what you're saying though, I'm not completely dismissing it, but I feel they made the right choice here and it's 100x more intuitive to know which controls I'm affecting on which page. Plus it makes it better visually as well.
@oscilop3 ай бұрын
And maybe there's a way to have a best of both worlds where you can have some Control All page where all controls are exposed. But I'm not sure that's something they should spend time on.
@PanopticMotion3 ай бұрын
@@oscilop The focus shouldn't be on cramming information. With ample screen space available, why doesn't the synth encourage interaction and exploration? I encourage you to check out the new synth Myth or the upcoming Madrona Labs Sumu. Both offer incredible capabilities, showcasing their functions and inviting users to engage with them. In contrast, Tela seems to be just a collection of icons, lacking clarity about their functions-they're symbols hidden under six pages, without meaningful explanations!

This is F tier. The grid is fake, it's not even modular. The routing only flows downwards IN COLUMNS. It's just a lame effects rack with 5 racks. There's no use for this as we have many better options that aren't fake.

Two things I don't like, one is no Midi support and the other is subscription's (patreon) so It's a NO from me.
@oscilop3 ай бұрын
I hear you. Midi will eventually come. I'm also not a fan of subscriptions, but when that money goes to small creators, not big companies, it makes more sense. Patreon enables the dev to pay the bills and try to make this crazy project going. I'm not sure if any big company would ever attempt a DAW like this one. You can also subscribe for as little as 1 dollar a month, try a build and then if you don't like it, cancel your subscription. So you don't lose much if you want to try. 😊
