I love this episode, Jared's performance in it is phenomenal. BUT the plot points in it are disturbing. Gary, in Sam's body, goes to have sex with a stranger from a bar. this is presented as a joke. seriously? this is actually sexual violence

I feel so bad for Sam in this episode, all his past mistakes haunt him from season to season. Other characters' mistakes are forgiven and forgotten for several episodes, but not Sam's. his mistakes follow him until he fully atones for them. The only good thing is that my boy turned out to be strong enough to resist the Famine and defeat it

Personally I've found the Horseman in this episode the scariest of the bunch, especially the intro, it's very eerie with the music and visuals. 28:55, that was actually a somewhat good reconstruction of a soul, from what I read and perceived. ✴ Great reaction, as usual! Season 5 is slowly coming to a close, but the episodes are so good, can't wait!

Dean seeing Sam & others all messed up as he gets closer & closer to his crossroads deal coming up is something that we as viewers had seen ever since Crossroad Blues in Season 2. In that episode we saw several characters have similar reactions not long before the hellhounds came for them.

I loved this episode because I'm christian, and the line "I guess if you're gonna have faith, you can't just have it when the miracles happen" is so accurate. My brother was dying of blood cancer, but when the whole family prayed for him, he got healed. It didn't happen immediately, but we didn't give up praying, and now my brother is healthier than ever before. Sorry I'm not trying to push any belief on anyone, just wanted to say that this episode was so respectful and relatable to christianity

If I were Sam, I would have said this to Dean, Dean, why is it so hard for you to believe in angels and God? We know that demons and hell exist. Therefore, doesn't it stand to reason that angels, God, and Heaven exist?

Hello Cora. Yes, Dean loves pie as do most Americans. Pie is a delicious dessert with so many varieties.

I don't like the idea that Helaena actually knows the future and can see everything that is going to happen, instead of her being a dreamer who has visions of some things and interprets those visions. I don't think the writers have considered that if she actually can see the future then that means she just let people behead her son without trying to find a way to prevent it. She had a lot of specifics though and it sounds like she saw Aemond burn Aegon so I'm worried it's not just going to be interpretations of visions.

I don't believe Dreamfyre (Helaena's dragon) was mentioned by name until this episode, but its existence was implied when Daemon said in the finale of the last season that the Greens had three adult dragons by his count. It's also implied that the dragon Aemond saw in the Dragon Pit back in episode 6 of season 1 (after they bring him the "Pink Dread") was Dreamfyre.

This was an amazing finale. I'm so ready for season 3. The war is going to be epic 🖤 #TEAMBLACK

Huge hugs to Dean!

Horseman of Famine definitely was not what you expected you think ‘oh makes you hungry big deal’ but its also addiction and things that are just not good for you in excess. That is actually sad for both Sam and Dean’s situations for Sam its relapsing into the demon blood his Achilles heel his greatest failure but for Dean its being unfulfilled so depressed by his losses that he truly wants nothing, again all this stuff despite all the horror and supernatural elements are actually very relatable and human issues.

I loved the reaction to this episode. I feel for both brothers and Cas. I hated seeing Sam impacted by his addiction again. It was heartbreaking that Dean feels so dead inside, 😢

The scene where Dean is talking to Cas on the phone and Cas just appears and keeps on talking to Dean even though they're face to face is one of my favorite Cas moments of all time! I also love the scene where Cas tells Dean and Sam that the hug is Cupid's handshake. Dean doesn't like it and Cas says "No one likes it." He has a hilarious line near the end of the season 5 finale, but I won't spoil it for you! The beginning of this episode is so gross though. I have to fast forward to the title card when I know this is the next episode up.

When Famine said Dean was dead already I think it is because he's died a few times and been to hell so maybe that's why it's just thought also Dean is one of the most caring people in the universe look how he is with kids💜

39:20 - there is a theory with this episode, that when Famine is saying this line, he is talking about Dean's soul, whether you believe it or not is personal preference, i view it as: he did that much in Hell, his soul just doesn't want for anything - hence the "deep, dark nothing"

I dislike this season so much. Apart from the stand-alone episodes like Swap Meat or Sam Interrupted, it's probably my least favourite of them all. What I dislike most is how Sam is forced to bear the blame for all that has brought them to this point. While I feel for Dean too, who has to witness what his little brother is going through, on the whole, his situation is less drastic. He is after all on the 'side of the angels' being the vessel for Michael. And while that is awful, it can't be compared to Sam/Lucifer. Sam is the most innocent of them all. Mary made a deal with Azazel and Sam was the one infected with the demon blood. Then when Sam is killed by Jake, Dean realizes he can't exist without Sam by his side and he sells his soul for him. Another situation that is forced upon Sam, even if in a well-meaning way. Last of all, Sam in his desperation at not being able to save Dean from Hell, then tries to do exactly what Dean had done, make a deal to resurrect his big brother and take his place. Unable to do so, Sam sinks into a pit of despair, practically letting himself die, when along comes Ruby who manipulates a broken Sam with the temptation of being able to get revenge on Lilith if he only taps into his powers. By the time the angels pull Dean out of Hell, following their plan, Sam is already addicted to Ruby's blood. And for those who say that Sam freed the devil by killing Lilith, so it's his fault, remember that Dean also wanted to kill her. What Dean objected to was Sam's liaison with Ruby, although even he came to trust her, to the point of apologizing for suspecting her of subterfuge. So, yeah. I hate what is happening to Sam. It's so unfair.

Really good episode. Love when they're fun at first and suddenly get that serious turn.
