I completely agree having that one go to tool, i still use my old 10.8v DeWalt dcf815 almost daily. I'll be devastated when it finally gives up but hopefully I'll avoid that, i recently installed a new motor and it got new batteries last year so it should keep going for a good while longer 🤞

You put your bits in a bit holder and put that bit holder in a designated pouch. Your basic tools that get used regularly should be in places that you can reach to blindly and grab what you're looking for. Bag design is so important, and most companies are turning our pouches, bags, and tool boxes into tool dumpsters with no functionality to the design. I hope this changes soon.

From what I understand they are the Witte screwdrivers. They used to just have Witte screwdrivers in their bundles, which are where I got this set from

15:18 agree here, the Klein tool bag was a disaster for me and sold it used, basically new, as used 3 days and that was that. Went back to original setup, but still “looking” for THE SETUP to Rule them all, and it’s been 30 yrs, but who is t! Now, if your saying you stopped looking, trying the new bags, boxes, totes, pouches, on the market today b/c your setup in the All Time Ultimate best ever made period…. Ya hit me up and let me know what using, cuz me wants!✌🏻

8:12 even us plumbers admit a sparky is right when comes to Cobra pliers from Knipex…..they just that good, and make diff variants which are sweeeeeet! And yeah, I’m both an electrician and plumber (and started as a sparky 1st, then did plumbing, but not a fav by any means….do like my press tool though😃, but as a remodeler now, sure helps to know carpentry, electrical and plumbing,bi g….

7:26 imo, any brand adjustable pliers that have a nut on them, is something I loathe and cant stand. Why you should ask….. Well thanks, I’ll tell you. They suck! Always loosen and nut falls off; or they end up getting hard to move from one size or another, dare I say even get stuck somewhere in THE MIDDLE, or SOMEWHERE “IN BETWEEN” (if get reference, 👍🏻; if not, 👍🏻 as well), and continuous nut tightening or securing permanently isn’t a fix; so I’d say stay away from any brand that has that kind of “setup” and stick with the ones that don’t have a screw/nut and dipped/slide on grips etc….AS IT’ll make you bananas, it sure as 7734 will😉 And yes, any type of plier IS A HAMMER for us Sparkies; HOWEVER, YOU MUST USE THE SIDE OF THE TOOL, NEVER THE FACE ON EITHER SIDE, even Klein tells ya that, fyi! So, sides as hammer 👍🏻👍🏻right as rain in this 103° Florida heat; face as hammer is a NO GO( heck, ya like using your face as a hammer, didn’t think so, lol). Cheers ✌🏻

I like my southwire combo strippers (along with the NM strippers), but my Knipex auto self adjusting and forged strippers are my all time go to. If in another bag or truck, I’m grabbing my southwire. Just me, b7t feel good, hand grips don’t fall off and they keep going. Do I own Klein, yes I do and have them all as well, but they my 3rd to grab n unless doing tool specific on the job and then I’ll grab whichever brand has that tool…..

I havent had a pair of knipex anythings that werent great tools. But i despise shill vids. Especially ones where someone uses a filter to make their eyes blue. Lol. The fact that people buy things based on someone just talking about them is insane to me. Doesnt matter if the product is great or garbage.

My Occidental kit is 25+ years old and going strong. I've got their fastener bags, belt, and sheepskin hip pads because I'm just that posh :) I recently picked up a couple of Veto pouches for electrical work and other projects I get into. I like certain things about them and hate some others. I'm actually modifying them to add a leather strap handle to replace the bulky synthetic handles. For straight-up electrical work, the OL electrician's pouch can't be beat. I'm not a huge fan of nylon/synthetic bags as leather breaks in nicely and conforms to a given tool. Plus it feels better (again, posh). I added leather strap handles to my OL pouches as well for carrying the entire belt and bags when not wearing the belt. It works great when loaded up with tools, faseners, etc. For mods, I use Chicago screws for leather instead of rivits especially when I'm first testing out an idea. I just got those Knipix stripper/plier/cutters you show, and they are great. However, being left-handed, the lock isn't as easy to flick as when I use them in my right hand. I recently picked up the WERA - 05051493001-838 RA-R M Bitholding Screwdriver. Awesome for working on old homes with all manner of fasteners requiring #1,2 flat and Philips heads, etc. They hold the little stubby bits as well as quick change bits. That Fluke meter is perfect for carrying in on the hip. I've got the bigger Klein one with tons of features not needed for most AC/DC work. While great, it's too bulky to carry around all the time. That FLIR NCV looks great. I just picked up a Klien one to replace a Southwire (Gardner Bender?) that got smashed. It's really bulky. (I wrote software for FLIR back in the 90s for those original Forward Looking Infra Red R2D2 looking things for helicopters.)

About the trade school… I start my electrical apprenticeship in a couple weeks and they’re actually making me take the class at our local trade school. They’ll pay for the 4 year class too so I’m not complaining haha. Many trade companies here in Utah will pay and make you go through the class at this local trade school

If you want to get a quality drill and impact driver set, don’t sleep on Milwaukee’s Brushless M18 combo. They’re not Fuel but they’re excellent tools. I run Fuel but my bro picked up a set of Brushless. So just for kicks we did a side by side comparison and there isn’t much of a noticeably difference. Only thing is Fuel has settings on the impact driver.

The gen 3 m12 drill is significantly better from the m12 drill you have. I really like m12 because I would rather carry a smaller drill than no drill

M12 cut-off tool is something I'd pass on very low torque. It can barley handle frp without taking a nap waiting for it to cut. Dewalt rigid or ryobi all make a much better one. Some tools weren't made to be 12v
@MattHmm-rq6dn
@MattHmm-rq6dn 9 күн бұрын
Some things ryobi are fantastic and the hp lineup is there best products. I highly recommend ryobi nailers for the price and something you suggested ryobi has a portaband. It's brushed and has a 2m5in capacity but it's what you call a "beast ". Mine is over 3 years old and I cut leaded pipe even hardened car cv axels with it. My buddy chopped up a 1ton truck Frame rail even a small peice of railroad track. For almost 1/3rd the price of dewalt or milwaukee how can you go wrong?
