In all fairness, I had to cut corners like they were going out of style to catch him up, and when I did, latch onto him like a remora on a shark. I made him tow me for two miles before the V8 made its move. The V8 was there for most of this, on my side wake and wasn't playing any of my silly games. He led me into the worst of the wind until I wised up and looked for calmer waters.

Nice video----unfortunately the turn instructions were messed up because a large group made the turn thru the bridge around the abutments instead of before the bridge like you did. The guys in the motorboat were of no assistance and were camping out under the bridge to get out of the sun.
@stevecorbettcanoeracing Жыл бұрын
Looks like my reply didn't go through, so I will try again: I thought I heard to turn around a buoy, but when I got there, I saw two. I split the difference and turned between them. Did you ever figure out which turn was correct?
@stephenweiss307 Жыл бұрын
@@stevecorbettcanoeracing The previous few years we turned before the bridge. Those bouys you turned around had nothing to do with the race. We were supposed to turn around the motorboat which should have been positioned before the bridge but those guys like I previously said were under the bridge. PS that was me passing you at the 3:00mark.

Could add discussion of "bottom drag" and how to read it. A general rule in racing is to be just off the center of a wave train. Don't want to spend boat energy by bouncing.
