I remember John making fun of this song in the Get Back film when George first played it to them. And Paul looking very superior and bored when George was talking to him. It's surprising that George came back after leaving the sessions- he later explained that it was only because the other three asked him to come back to just finish the Get Back album, and somehow that grew into the Abbey Road sessions. And at the final Beatles recording session in January 1970, when they were finishing up "I, Me, Mine", (George's new song to fill out the album), only George, Ringo, and Paul were there- John had quit in September 69 after returning from Toronto and returned all excited about the POB's live performance with Clapton (Remember how John nonchalantly recommended hiring Clapton to replace George after George had quit in January 69?). George left in January 69 and was still there a year later in January 70, but John left in September 69 and never came back. Actually, George was very loyal to the Beatles, even after years of mistreatment.

The lyrics to This Song are more than hilarious, they're brilliant!!! "Nothing Brite about it!" If I remember correctly, the company that sued him was named Brite (sp) AND unless I read a lie, in the end he owned that company!!! 😂😂😂 I'll gladly stand correctly if I've gotten any of this wrong. "This song is in E" So simple but what a clever way to create the just right rhyme!!! Oh, how I love and miss this man. ❤

Before my daughters were born, whenever my wife said they were restless I'd put my hand on her tummy and just sing to them, this being one of the main things I sang. She said they quieted right down immediately and just listened to me....one of my favorite memories. (Single births all, by the way. Sang to each of them.)
