Hello, I intend to go at the end of July this year with my brother to carry out the administrative recognition process for Italian citizenship, but I am uncertain about my immigration situation. On my first trip to Europe, in July 2023, I returned to Brazil in December 2023, exceeding the legal limit by 2 months due to the birth of my cousin's son, who needed my assistance in Portugal. Entry and exit registrations were made in Madrid, Spain, without any warning. Can you tell me if I will have any problems with immigration from Italy, even after completing 180 days outside the Schengen area? Thanks!

I appreciate this detailed information. You mentioned that you sometimes rent from landlords/owners directly. How do you typically locate and connect with said owners to see their properties and work out an agreement? I’m interested in slow traveling while keeping a modest/reasonable budget. I’d also like to avoid Airbnb, if possible, so your content is right up my alley.

Glad it is helpful. We do have a Q&A video where we discuss how we find local landlords, it is a combination of several ways like: web search, FB groups, alternative platforms like booking, Flatio etc. We may make a video on it soon. 🤞

If you're a Surf Shark affiliate, you're benefiting from sales. What's the difference between that and sponsorship? Be honest.

We are honest. If someone uses any of our affiliate links, we make a small commission. However, we are not paid by surfshark to make or or include them in the video. That is called a sponsorship. You're welcome for your free info 😉

I would love to know the number of people that are leaving the US for good. I lived in Portugal about 20 years ago. I nust have missed something. I really did not find the people all that friendly. I learned the language, but that didn't matter. They seem to be nice to certain people, as far as I could see. I love exploring Latin America. The people there are amazing.

I have been living a month in Ksamil, which is right next to Saranda. Since I have a car, I did visit Saranda a few times. I do agree with most of your plus and minus points. For me being Swiss, I can only stay 3 months in Albania. This does change the optics of the apartment costs. In Ksamil I paid EUR 20.- per night for 30 days. Now in Progadec I pay EUR 25.- for 41 nights. All this changes, when you can rent for 6, 9 or 12 months. One more thing: I myself am a pretty good cook. On the other hand I do love dining out. Now the restaurants and indeed the entire hospitality industry as a whole in Albania is in it's infancy stage. Nowadays I cook in my apartment and go out for a drink. - The issue with the construction and the noise immissions is unfortunately all over the country. I had it in Ksamil and now I have it in Progadec. One almost can't escape it. I do agree that Albanians for the most part are kind and friendly people. Yet, for me it's also clear that the complete isolation this country has been in up until the 90-ties, the mindset and the personal development is unfortunately way behind the ateball. Most Albanians have no awareness of the value of travelling and speaking languages. So they do have ways to go, I am afraid to say.
@TheWanderingHartz
@TheWanderingHartz 12 күн бұрын
We found construction in Tirana as well. However we found a lot of people speaking at least some english and even Italian in Saranda and more english in younger Tirinana. We were told by locals that english is being taught in schools there as mandatory. Overall, Albania defiantly wants to "catch-up" especially in the hospitality and tourism sectors.
@STUDERRG
@STUDERRG 12 күн бұрын
The younger generation oftentimes speaks english. But as mentioned before, the hospitality industry is an industry like any other one and does require it's skills and standards if one wants to make serious money with it. Albania has a long way to go. Re taxis: I was personally ripped off and got the confirmation from Albanians that their taxi drivers pose a problem.@@TheWanderingHartz

I'm listening to dude at the moment inside of thrifty right outside the airport...and pissed off they are telling us after our booking which was months ahead they are dropping secretive cost on us...the estimate was 327.00 when we get here there bringing out different cost for tolls fees/other fees...now my choices is with debit card 750.00 and or with credit card 950.00...with a 500 deposit that gets credited back but just make sure you don't rely on that BS estimate...because even the better known companies are not reliable

Is it not a new rule as well that a marriage certificate has to have a QR code? They are refusing my wife's visa application because our's is old and typed with typewriter before QR codes were even invented. Last year they were fine with the certificate. I guess this year she will not be allowed to visit. I hope that we will not get fined or put on a ban over a number of years.

Great video! Which camera did you use most while hiking El Yunque? Did it rain when you were there, and how did you protect your camera if you used the Sony? I own a Canon R6, and I am not sure if it would be a good idea to take it.

Thanks! I used the Sony A7III with Tamron Lenses and a DJI Osmo action camera. The sony and tamron lenses are weather sealed and can handle mist and some rain drops. I would tuck my camera under my shirt or get to shelter when it rained. JUst wipe the water off asap. You can also use a gallon sized ziplock bag for the camera body and cut a lens hole too or buy a professional waterproof cover. Have a great trip! We loved hiking around there. We have another El Yunque hiking video shot with almost entirely the sony A7III kzfaq.info/get/bejne/i7yHdKaE26_GZ4U.html

Slow travel is literally traveling more slowly, but it is also about embracing the idea of fully immersing yourself in the places you visit. It's about taking the time to really connect with the local culture, and other people, rather than rushing from one tourist spot to the next. Most importantly for us, It's about living intentionally by savoring each moment. There are a lot of benefits and ways in which you can incorporate slow travel into your life. What do you do if it's your passport under 6 months. If you renew, will they just add time to your passport, and will you lose your ending time, if that makes sense.
@TheWanderingHartz
@TheWanderingHartz 26 күн бұрын
If your passport is going to expire in 6 months you should to renew it unless your trip is in the next month or two and only for a short duration. We recommend doing so 6 months before it expires or before a long (30 day or more) trip. Renewing will make it valid for another 10 years (U.S.). I hope that helps, be sure to check out the official page travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/passports/have-passport.html (if its a U.S. passport).
