The CIA had NO clue as to what was going to take place on August 19th 1953. Read all CIA documents declassified in 2017. Read the documents from Aug 15th 16th , 17th and 18 th. They did NOT anticipate let alone planned events of August 19th (28 Mordad.) 28 Mordad was NOT a Coup. The Coup was when Mossadegh did not step down after he reserved the constitutional order by Shah and in fact he kept it a secret from his own cabinet with exception of Fatemi and Shayegan.
