Congratulations to Seize the Grey and connections. Ran beautifully, the way he moved over the course, ten furlongs should not be a problem.

Awww I just saw another interview of Dejuan Smith. He bought a $500 racehorse, an older mare of 4 or 5 years old, taught himself how to ride, and taught her what he knew about pacing yourself from running track in highschool; then he entered her in 4 races and they won $30,000. 🏆✨

I hope he makes the trip to Santa Anita for the Shoemaker Mile. He looks like a standout. There is another sharp horse in CA named Hong Kong Harry, but Chez Pierre looks like the one to beat in the Grade I race.

He did so much for Parx and Garden State: excellent announcer, good at anticipating developments. He began in 1986 right before I moved here. Well-earned retirement. So much of my money hung on his every word.

Hmmmm….while this may seem clear to many, it’s actually pretty close. Me having no skin in the game I can be objective and consider both positions. First I spent 13yrs with race horses and was a jockey for 10 of those. Fairgrounds New Orleans, Jefferson Downs New Orleans, Louisiana Downs Shreveport La, Hawthorn Chicago ILL, Sportsman's Park ILL, Ellis Park Kentucky, I been around. I still watch races everyday. Back to the races, the inside horse/rider definitely used his position to corral the outside horse…entering his path excessively. Not that the inside horse/rider has cocked the horses head to the outside and is hitting his horse with the whip left handed intentionally impending/intimidating the outside horse and more over rider. If the outside horse and rider done veer out it is possible that the horse in the rear will clip heels and go down. Some will call this race riding, i however will call it a foul. The inside horse used his position to prevent the outside horse from being able to compete fairly. The outside horse was almost still able to overcome this obstacle to win. Now come the factor that I use to determine if the horse should have been taken down, placed second rather first. Did the foul clearly effect the order of finish? YES…with that said, i personally would have ruled to take him down. This type of riding happens every day, and stewards turn a blind eye. The top riders in the country are given bias on this all the time. Irad Ortiz Jr just got 30 days for careless riding. I’ve never heard of that. I believe this was through a culmination of events that occurred over an entire meet. The stewards in NY take great pride in hosting the best horses in the country. This results in having a jockey colony the matches up with the best in the world. It also creates and opportunity for Irad, Luis, and multiple others to have the opportunity to become leading rider in the country if not the world. So they let them act like idiots until the rider decides to leave the circuit and gives them extensive days penalty in between meets.
