I love Rentaghoat. Apparently the theme was (co) written by Michael Staniforth, the actor who played Timothy Claypole, who also performed it. I always imagine it being an advert for the company

Bill Hader had a writing credit on the first inside out. He was brought in early to help develop the film and many of the actors helped develop their characters. They are not just voice actors and the deserve better than to be low balled and replaced.

Absolute insanity and historical revisionism to say Taylor Swift is bigger phenomenon than Michael Jackson. Maybe someday, but not yet at least.

My biggest bugbear with the Wheel is sometimes you will get an episode where someone has a go on the wheel and then they'll go down but come straight back and they might come back several more times, especially I think there's been one episode where someone got to the end and got the first two questions wrong but then got a third chance - I think it can still be random at that point but also allow for the other two contestants to have a shot, don't think it's fair for someone to get three cracks at the end. That would be the one change I'd make to the show

My close friends and I chose to avoid entertainment that includes strong language. We are grateful for bbciplayer warnings of such. Not over-righteous or judging of other's choices, just a strongly held set of values.

I complained to our ABC a few times; namely subtitling and transphobic remarks. Just yesterday for example! I'm surprised the talking dog got pinged, Hacker and Dodge are both legit.

Polling is now far more difficult because it is very hard to get anyone to pick up the phone who isn’t a baby boomer. I removed reading out how the NY Times struggled at the last US election - and that was during a pandemic when people were desperate for human contact. It essentially would take them 2 hrs to get one valid non biased response- that’s just not tenable . I never answer a number that isn’t from someone I know, and I am not unique. This makes truly reflective polling nigh on impossible. Other forms of polling (online surveys etc) though are easily manipulated or skewed eg we tend to only vote when we are really disgruntled, so again difficult to trust. Ironic in the age of big data.

I feel like I'm on another planet when I hear the way they're describing Taylor Swift. She's a successful popstar doing an arena tour who has some very devoted fans. They're talking as if she is the second coming of Jesus

Jaffa cake controversy! McVitties went to court to protect the Jaffa Cake. A biscuit attracts vat A cake does not. McVitties were able to proove that like a cake a stale Jaffa Cake becomes hard. A stale biscuit becomes soft and soggy. Therefore a Jaffa cake is a cake not a biscuit

I think Rick Beato's take on Taylor Swift was best- to paraphraze- with that much power and influence she could do something incredibly interesting and creative with her music- but she keeps releasing the same dull 4-chord (usually fewer) songs.

43:30 - I'm with Rich here, I don't care that much about Hollywood A-Listers like Bill Hader's wealth takling a hit! I"m sure Bill Hader already has some nice things in his life! I'm sure he already is able to pay his elecftricity bills! So much cooler if some B-listers or non-Hollywood peeps from some small sitcoms get a break! Like if for example Claudia Winkleman would voice some of the emotions in Inside Out - I'd be much more extatic than about Bill Haders of this world!

because she is scared of the P... word. This was about an interview where Julia Hartley-Brewer was extremely rude and racist to Dr Mustafa Barghouti, the general secretary of the Palestinian National Initiative. Me thinks she feels much safer in the mediocrity and blandness of Taylor Swift.

How about the new Series of Doctor Who? - In the Xmas Special Ncuti Gatwa sneaks in, "i've just been Snowmanned". Thats a slang term meaning fingers or thumb up the.... In Boom he kisses a very phallic shaped thingy which is actually a compressed dead man. Yikes! Maybe they were too subtlety inserted for people to realize and complain. But in a Family Show I feel people should.

Sounds like Taylor Swift’s success turned the conventional wisdom of pop stardom on its head, ie that creating mystery about the artist kept the public interested.
