My 04 Dakota Slt decided the front driver side window and the rear passenger side window assembly’s were crap. Both assemblies broke without being able to hold the window up two days apart. I am now driving around with two windows completely open. Thanks dodge before stalantis for making a great truck but failing to use quality parts for the widnows

I tend to spray brake clean in where the sliders go. Empty out old grease and debris.

Question. I had a misfire on cylinder 4. Swapped the coil pack and the spark plugs, separately and together, still got a misfire on cylinder 4. Would my next step be swapping the fuel injectors? Or what else could I do on my own before I go to a shop

I have had very good results using a string line around all four tires. It aligns front to front and front to rear.

Im stumped!! Me and my son did this on my Mustang and it worked fine, well today we did it on his 08 silverado, we got the steering wheel straight and rannthe seatbelt through it to keep it from moving. We got it all lined out, toed it in 1/16 on each side , and i be damned the steering wheel is crooked! On my old jeeps they had a draglink that you can use to straghtedln the steering wheel but the Sipverados dont. What have i done wrong?

Where did the retaining wire go?

Only problem is your wheels can be at an angle and still have matching front and rear tow measurement. So when you drive down the road your steering wheel won’t necessarily be centered.

Do you know if i can swap the rear window motor and put it up front? Im not sure if there all four the same.

You can achieve the same result with two metal tubes, one inserted inside the other. Give the outer one a slight dent so that when you twist the inner one round, it's locked in place. If the vehicle is front wheel drive, it should be towing out slightly. If it is rear wheel drive, it should be towing in slightly -- approximately 3/16" respectively. With metal tubes extended fully between the front part of the two front wheels roughly half way up then locked in that position by twisting the outer tube, remove then do the same at the opposite side of the same wheels. The clearance that you have between both sides is what you measure and may have to make an adjustment to obtain. But this is only a rough guide, everything is done using laser beams and whatever nowadays.

What size are those caliper Mount bolts (not the 14mm)?

string line and plum bob are much better run string line all the way around all four wheels and go from there hang plum bob over the center of the wheel easy and very accurate

This is a really good idea You need to measure exactly the same height up the tire both sides which should be level with the centre of the wheel though

Basically get it between 1/16 and 1/32 of an inch. Front to the back 🎉

1) very few cars have this access with a tape measure being able to measure unobstructed 2) alignment shops don’t align perfectly. They adjust slightly due to road crown. I’m all for DIY. But I’ll continue to defer to professionals on things like this. You do you, but not everything is DIY.

Hello, I have a 2007 mini cooper s. And every morning I turn it on and it takes a while if it starts, but it turns off and I have to turn it on several times, until it turns on and when it's cold it makes me do the same thing again. Does anyone know why that is? Spark plugs and sensor hoses have already been changed

Saw you using Pittsburgh (Harbor Freight) brand sockets. FYI, they sell adapters for power drills there for like $5 so you can use any old DeWalt or Ryobi drill with a socket set to quickly take down the bolts once you've started them with a breaker bar. Saves a lot of back pain on this job, used mine extensively this weekend. Everything from lug nuts to LCA body bolts.

Roads are built slightly cambered to allow rainwater to run into the gutter so a perfect toe alignment will have you pulling the wheel to the left or right depending on which country you are in to stay straight. You have to toe in the vehicle bearing this in mind to suit the camber of an average road.

Too many incorrect steps here. I have done alignments for over 40yrs now. This is terribly incorrect. NEVER measure from tread. There is always something called tire run-out. Jack up each side, spray paint a small spot all around the tire by spinning it. Let dry, them take a scribe & scratch a straight line by spinning tire with scribe fixed to concretete on painted area. Eliminates tire run-out which can be as much as 1/16 - 1/8 inch. This will give you a true reading. measure from those lines. Also this is NOT an alignment. This is only setting the toe-in. An alignment consists of setting caster, camber & toe-in.

Well you made it seem so easy, mine was not that easy to get out my car was wrecked on the side B4 purchasing. So the front bolt frame was slightly bent. But thanks for the video bc it will help me when I do the driver's side.

I dis-agree with you sir...since you are working on a 4wd, it should be 1/8" to 1/4" toe-out. If it were a 2wd vehicle, then yes 1/8" to 1/4" toe-in.... you could infer then, that if it were a part time 4wd vehicle, it should be set to 0 toe, or 1/8 toe-in to 1/8 toe-out is prolly more realistic....and, measuring off the rim is prolly a better idea, cuz, u kno, rubber ain't the best medium for accuracy....

Can this be done with the car jacked up? Or would jacking up the car throw off my measurements?
