@@SHERRY0010 I can’t vouch for snow. I suppose a junk truck would be ideal if you were going to get a dump feature. I’d personally get a lift gate though, ramps make loading “faster” but lift gate can be great when you have those heavier items. Since time isn’t the main charge, I’d opt for the lift gate

He could totally pull a dump trailer with that tow capacity. I’ve towed my dump trailer with an F-150 for 5 years. It’s an 09 too…
@clutterreductionjunkremoval
@clutterreductionjunkremoval 5 күн бұрын
@@junkbros5098 maybe I’m looking at it too narrow minded. I see it as his MAX tow capacity was 8900. Considering your average dump trailer is around 4k lbs tare weight. You put more than a ton in there, which is pretty easy and you’re constantly pushing your vehicles max output. My average full load is 1-1.5 tons of household furniture and miscellaneous. Not even getting into debris. So it would be a lot of strain and a safety concern. But I get it, people will see a number and assume it’s fine. I’ve seen a Honda accord pull a dump trailer so who even knows.

How do you determine beforehand if you'll need a helper? There have been so many jobs I've under/overestimated the difficulty of. Quite often, jobs that sound simple end up needing extra hands and jobs that sound rough end up being a breeze. Customer provided photos generally do not provide enough information, in my limited experience.
@clutterreductionjunkremoval

Experience. Ask the right Q's. What kind of furniture is it, where is it in the house, what floor, stairs or elevator. Making sure you have the right equipment and know how to use it is probably the most important. For example, for this job, she said she had a couch and a few rugs. Rugs are pretty straightforward, couch is my main concern. So i ask "Where is it in the house? Bedroom or living room". "What kind of couch is it? Sleeper, sectional, recliner?". What floor is your home on?" With those answered I know if I'll have a tight doorway and hallway to work with or an open room plan. If i need a dolly or a hand truck. and so on. Think of the complicated jobs you're getting into, and think of a better Q you could've asked. And remember it for next time.

@@SHERRY0010 it’s a bare minimum entry job. If you don’t appear to be a complete idiot, can lift 75+ pounds, and don’t have any “serious” felonies, then you’re hired! lol We had guys working there that if you googled their name you’d find their mugshots and records and some would have lists of crimes like theft, grand theft, assault, etc… as long as it’s not like murd*r or something, then it’s ok. Moving companies have an immense turnover rate, so they aren’t very picky. There was a lot of “we just need a body to fill in on jobs when it’s busy, we’ll deal with any damages that come up” because they’ll make more money on a job than they’ll end up paying out. ^One of the things I despised that they did because I didn’t like things going wrong in my crews because it reflects me and affects like work & pay.
