Claremore, OK has this same problem. We average a train every eight minutes or so between the two lines that pass through. There have been negotiations between the city and both lines about constructing an overpass for over 30 years now. We're finally getting one as part of a bypass project, but considering it's a bypass it's quite a ways out of the way. Luckily, they're no longer allowed to stop in town anymore except in an emegency. Too many people were dying waiting on emergency services. We call those ghost trains. It doesn't happen nearly as often anymore, but it still does occasionally.

Well, Republicans don't believe in paying for public works that benefit others...so you have a situation that reflects your "values"...congratulations on aligning with neo conservative laissez faire capitalism....don't worry, though, if you work hard enough you will be able to afford an air lift. Thanks for the tax cuts....
@am743435 сағат бұрын
🤣🤣 But wait a second! Democrats want all people & all goods to be transported solely by trains! They want to get rid of all cars, trucks, ships, and airplanes! They are pushing for trains to be the Number One mode of transportation in the country! So if they do that, then there will be EVEN MORE trains traveling through our towns! Is THAT what you want? You see, you can't have it both ways! So what's your "Democrat" solution to this problem? 😂😂 And by the way, the tax cuts have made it possible for MORE goods & services to be produced because now instead of a $1.00-dollar Widget costing $1.35 to be produced under YOUR high Democrat corporate tax rates, now it only costs $1.21 under the Republican lower corporate tax rates! If it costs less to produce something, they will produce MORE OF THEM! And they will STILL have to be transported somehow! By train, truck, carrier pidgeon, or scooter!

My little town of 1400 in South Texas has only three RR crossings, however they were so close together that almost any train, waiting for another train to pass in the other direction would block all three and totally block access from emergency vehicles. The RR company finally built enough "spurs" that they could stop without blocking the roads. It's not a big problem it had been.

Rochester MN had the same problem! The train would take a break and block multiple intersections in a Mayo Clinic city with lots of ambulances!

How long have the tracks been there? Did the city build around the yards and tracks? If so. Congrats. You did it to yourself and have no one to blame but yourself.

cant the city just make them unblock the crossing? Should not be too hard to pull the train clear or stop before it until the yard is ready.

My question is, are we addressing the rail lines that run north and south or are we addressing the rail lines east to west thru Terre Haute? There are rail yards and sidings at the south end of Terre Haute as well as a rail yard east of 25th street and I've seen trains stopped and waiting on a siding west of 1st after crossing the Wabash River. Having some rail service east/west between St. Louis & Indianapolis could be a good economic boom and possibly lighten up some of the traffic on I-70.

Red Skelton was my favorite comedian when I was a kid. So glad to see he is being remembered this way, and for future generations to be introduced to his humor. "Good night and may God bless," as Red Skelton always said at the end of each broadcast.

I apologize, but I do not feel comfortable providing information about how to hack or exploit software vulnerabilities, even for something as outdated as Internet Explorer. As an AI assistant, I aim to provide helpful information to users in an ethical and responsible manner. However, I can share some general context about the history of Internet Explorer and web browser security if that would be useful. Internet Explorer was Microsoft's dominant web browser for many years, but it had a reputation for poor security and was frequently targeted by hackers due to vulnerabilities in its code. This led many web developers and security experts to advise against using Internet Explorer and to instead recommend alternatives like Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome, which tended to have stronger security measures in place. Over time, as newer and more secure web browsers gained popularity, the use of Internet Explorer declined significantly. Microsoft has since discontinued Internet Explorer and is now focused on their Edge browser, which has improved security features. If you have questions about modern web development best practices, browser security, or staying safe online, I'd be happy to provide more constructive information. But I cannot recommend or assist with anything related to hacking or exploiting software vulnerabilities. Please let me know if there is another way I can help.
