Just thinking about how challenge it is to play bass parts in Morse Code while singing this song. So glad we can relive these wonderful experiences.

This is why I got into drumming. You can literally find sticks and a set almost anywhere. And if nothing else you can use your fingers and hands. So cool and look how much fun you can have.

Why is there no footage of freddy gruber playing on a set in a traditional setting...can't seem to find anything???

Hi Wesley I wish I took video of him playing my drums here at our house … unfortunately this was one time he was captured like lightning in a bottle.. if you look at the form and his approach (even using ice cream scoops as drum sticks) and the last little triplet fill …. 😊

I own a drumkat 3.5 which I purchased new in the fall of '94, along with 5 flat kats and a hatkat hi hat foot pedal. I used a Boss DR 660 drum machine as a sound source. I didn't use it very much, and when I did it was pretty much in simple mode. The rubber surface deteriorated, but I decided to send it to Alternate Mode for their neoprene resurfacing. I've since downloaded a PC DAW (Cakewalk) and have connected the drumkat through and audio interface (with MIDI in/out). I've used the free VST Cakewalk comes with, and have added the free version of MODO drums. The samples are a big upgrade to the DR 660. I am though having a really difficult time programming the Drumkat in combination with the hatkat. Would anybody be able to help me walk me through it so I can get realistic hi hats. Thank you! And Jay, I truly love your musicianship/percussion/drumming

This record introduced me to the genius of holdsworth in 1979. Changed my life. And my approach to guitar. I'm still not much good though. Shame the camera isn't pointing at the lead guitarist's hands much of the time. And when it does, it's at a bad angle🤔🙄 Wonderful composition from an album of many. Well played here. There's a live performance of Bruford on this on vid. Imagine if allan had started out on violin playing Eddie jobson's part then switching to guitar for second solo. Genius guitarist & composer along some of the best of the best. 43 years of listening to this music & I enjoy it as much. Later in 1979 I saw Allan with Ian carrs nucleus. Mind blowing. Then five times after then with his own bands

Hi Thanks so much for the compliment… this was MrB first show setting up and getting a mix was the first and most important the camera setup was an afterthought and I just winged we’re they were located (no do overs) figured the time we put in getting a nights worth of this music together I might as well make a fast video …. As for Allan Holdsworth (I had the pleasure to hang with him a few times) great guy and wonderful musician and is sorely missed.

I wish I had video of the 1981 original line up you were great playing this music I left after the first year and came back a few years later with a different line up .. Tony you were one part of a big piece of the pie in making this music … one of these days I need to just put up a video with a few of the sound board mix I have of the original line up … a big credit goes to Bruce he was the voice to this project … and collectively a true group effort… ❤️🙏🏼

Is this the same Nursery Cryme that played a Halloween show in 1982? If so, I was the guy there in the Magog costume! Did Bruce used to just be a vocalist? My memory is a little fuzzy... but I'm almost sure that Dave Hess and Dave Ross were also in the band back then, too (the names sound so familiar). I used to *love* going to your shows! 🙂

Hi Bob Now your really testing my memory I've played so many shows all over and surprisingly was never into doing any mind controlling substances so my memory is only fogged by getting older ..... you would't happen to have pictures from that night ? but I need to thank you for going down memory lane this group had some very fun times and we enjoyed playing this wonderful music.... And yes Dave Hess the Guitarist and I are still doing music . :-) @@bobcoppola1599

No, I don't have any pictures! I *wish* I did. I can tell you this, though: They had a costume contest at the club that night, and the MC introduced me as "Mr'. Wizard." Bruce was upset by that, and he took the mic away and corrected him (It was Magog from Supper's Ready!). I still lost, though... to some idiot in a rubber mask (a head with an ax stuck in it)! :-( Anyway, I really enjoyed going to see you guys! I saw as many shows as I could. I'm not sure why I stopped going after '83, but I did (I wish I didn't). I'm glad that you guys are still making music! Maybe I'll get to see you again some day! 🙂@@TheCaveStudioFilms

I performed in a band where we both attended college back in the day. Greg played bass and I took up the bass on songs when Greg wanted to be frontman he taught me some cool riffs that I remember today, although I proficient enough my instruments are keys and guitar, my point is that Greg was way ahead of everybody he was tough to keep up with. Gene Simmons was also enrolled, I played with him also. Greg was the man, not even close second.
