What if the truck is loaded and the conrete road is very steep with a lot of curves. Can you use the transmission in 4low to get the extra power. but keeping the front manual hub disengage so that it will not damage other components when turning.

The first most important lesson. Before you even take your vehicle off the road. Is that just because it's a 4wd. Doesn't mean you can take it in the mud. Because you will get stuck. Tires are everything. If you don't have some deep grove all terrain tires. You will get stuck. Because that false conference of having that first 4wd. Will get you into touble. Speaking from experience.

Yeah, used to do that with my daddy way back. You either get yourself out, or spend a long time looking at the trees. You can always wind a cable around your wheel and put it in low gear, kinda wrecks the tyre but there you go.
