Was thinking of getting one for tracking my vocals. Dope video 😎🎸. I see you have a gear addiction too 😊; what’s your next piece ?

It definitely adds a little weight to the song. You do everything on your own; very impressive 💪🏾. Cool song btw 😎🎸

Mic placement definitely not ideal on your amp but regardless I can tell it will sit MUCH better in the mix! I recommend to start with the mic in between the center and the edge rather than directly on the cap which is the brightest and harshest position. You can also pull the mic back an inch to get a fuller sound as well.

If you have the SSL SIX why not use the G Comp in that instead?

#5 *...#Renne THIS IS THE BEGANNING OF A NEW AGE FRO YOU! This is what #SUPRESSED TECHNOLOGY SOUDNS LIKE ...Here, have a listen! What you about to hear was recorded using ONLY (x5) plugins for the entire production! There is absolutely NO outboard gear used, NO analog summing, NO TAPE EMULATION of any kind, NO expensive microphones - average mic used you will find at a typical bar gig - however a AKG C414 was used for the Lead Vocal, recorded live instruments recorded, mixed and mastered all in box 24bit @48k, using #Behringer ADA 8200 for all micreamps and front end via RME ADAT Cards into a 2015 PC running windows 7.... ANALOG SICK SHIMMERY PHUCKING SMOOTH, without all the additional noise chasing - #FeelFree to compare this to bottomless budget all analog recordings from the 90's like Brian McKnights.* .......Lightly Mixed and Lightly Mastered Nigel George - M.J. #4 *I poses SUPRESSED TECHNOLOGY! The **#ONLY** digital Mixing and Recording System on the open market that is "ABSOLUTELY ANALOG SILK SHIMMERY SMOOTH", created by the same man whom develop the technology of MIXING a concert from a remote laptop &/or and IOS device! With this system (PC ONLY) with Behringer ADA8000 as your Micpreamp front end and monitoring outputs, this system has the ability to completely OUT PERFORM ANY OTHER SYSTEM on the open market, rather it be recording studio OR on a live stage! This system is the only system designed to turn a PC into a hardware unit (EG) IT NEVER CRASHES also the ONLY system that allows you to use your plugins and VST instruments LIVE! ... **#UNDERSTAND**, this is the only system that is designed from ground up to work on a MULTI-TOUCH SCREEN as well as with a simple mouse and keyboard and make the whole concept of TONS OF FLYING FADERS - ABSOLUTELY OBSELETE due to tits workflow! ... **#UNDERSTAND**, the truth is the plugins have come a long long way - HOWEVER due to the **#CODE** behind the box on all other digital mixing & recording platforms, which does all the translation and encoding from A/D & D/A in relation with your plugins also..... 95% of the world has never ever ever actually heard what their plugins really sound like and how good they can actually perform! BUT ON THESE 2 SYSTEMS I SPEAK OF - THEY MAKE HARDWARE OBSOLETE!*

#3 *Whereas there are those whom really did not give a phuck and sought to design their own MIXING & RECORDING DIGITAL Systems that did not have the audio inadequacies and workflow of the 97% of what you see on the market LIVE OR STUDIO globally!*

#2 *Digital Recording mixing and mastering technology was perfected as of 1991!!!! Through a plethora of suppression via the banking conglomerates that literally own nearly all the major retailers an have shared interest relations with majority of the major manufactures, developers and players in the game of MUSIC EQUIPMENT manufacturing and sells within a COLONIAL NATION STATE - THAT TECHNOLOGY HAS BEEN SURPRESSED FOR DECADES*

The mix is way out of balance for me. Its cool to use outboard but i like the approach to get like 100% with plugins itb and then add slowly hardware for the last bits. Even an 5000 $ compressor wont change a thing

How does the vitalizer compared to the clariphonic? I know it's a different design, but soundwise, which one you like it better?

That's not an SSL bus comp, it's a channel comp, not at all meant for compressing the 2 bus or mastering...that's fine but then you compare to actual mastering comps. Hmm ok. That's like comparing a delay to a reverb. It's really not the same thing.

the drive is just actually the input level going in to the unit that's why increasing it triggers the compression more. i thought it was a saturator as well when i first tried it! either way it's a magical unit!!!
@sysxtemАй бұрын
The drive mostly affects the bass/mid-hi tune EQ curve, the compression doesn't kick in until it hits a certain ratio

I actually sold mine a while back when I had not used it a in a little while. I found that I used many more plugins when I do not have the ssl6. I re purchased it and really love using the pre amps for loads of pleasant gain as well as versatility without a computer when I want to use it as a mixer and pre for multiple instruments and vocals.

my biggest takeaway: what took 10 minutes to get something barely useable on the six took about 90 seconds to get a really gorgeous sounding mix bus going on the warm. glad to see this shoot out, honestly. very telling!
