scared straight programs like this don't work at all, the kids who go thru programs like these typically re-offend at the same or higher rates this can be seen all thru the california department of corrections, youtuber Splinter from PRISON POV went thru a scared straight program and he will say the same thing. most of the time these people are caught up in some type of gang related activity, or are neglected at home and have no role models. a 13 year old doesen't just become a drug using carjacker hoe-wannabe by herself it takes outside influence and lack of actual discipline and understanding in the home. yelling screaming and "punking down" somebody is just gonna cause them to have a burning resentment against authority even more and because of that they will be dragged further into gang culture and degenerate activity.
