Wow! Great footage! I wish I could get reception like that on my 'lesser' DJI drones.

Great video. Thank you. Haven't been to Long Lake in about fifty years. Quite a bit of eutrophication in the cove at 11:30 and especially at the back end of the lake at 12:12. But...fifty years is a long time.

Probably the most extreme thing you do is fly this drone huh
@DailyDroneFPV2 жыл бұрын
LOL nah. This is the bottom tier of extreme for me, this is just my drone channel lmao. Here is a rough list of my extreme hobbies: 1: Tactical training with my many dozens of firearms (it's so nice to work from home and have my own 200 yard practice range in the backyard) 2: Snowboarding in terrain parks 3: 4-Wheeling/ ATV (though I would like a snowmobile one of these days) 4: Milsim/airsoft games 5: Drone freestyle/ racing videos But honestly the vast majority of what I do these days in my spare time is shoot/practice with my guns. Its hard to find time for everything else with 2 kids, a needy wife, and a house and yard to maintain. I haven't hardly flown my drones in about 4 years, except for the occasional odd job / roof inspection.

Nice, planning to do the same next week. I am planning to fly from the same spot as well! Thanks for heads up about the nude beach. I am thinking of doing a sunrise flight to avoid people altogether, hopefully too early for any nude beachgoers. Which controller did you use - the one comes with Phantom 4? I am planning to fly Air 2S, crossing my fingers. Saw some tests where it went 4 miles, so 2.75 miles or so shouldn't be a problem (is that the distance you clocked)?
@DailyDroneFPV2 жыл бұрын
Good plan! Best of luck, and watch out for winds/rain! I do not recall the exact flight distance but about 3 miles sounds right. I used the phantom 4 pro controller, which has an integrated LCD screen. Just make sure to get back once you hit about 1/3 battery life, else your drone might enter fly to home mode which can have a low horizontal speed, not to mention loss of control. And most important is to keep the antennas oriented the right way to maintain connection!

I can't believe u could fly in there.. Cant do that anymore. Now they have signs. Awesome shots
@DailyDroneFPV3 жыл бұрын
haha, yeah. I remember that day vividly... at the time there were no signs up forbidding drones so I threw mine up. When I was almost done and flaying back, a security guard approached me and asked me to not fly there since there was still an active military base in the crater which I was unaware of. You can still legally fly over the rim of the crater, but you will have to take off and land from a legal location such as Waikiki park. I would also stay as far from that base in the crater as possible. Good luck!

I plan on doing this when i visit Maui from Oahu with M2P. Glad to see its been done before.
@DailyDroneFPV3 жыл бұрын
Excellent! Good luck. Just a quick FYI: the point I took off from is between 2 beaches, one normal beach and one nude beach. Don't fly over the nude beach or you will get trouble. Also, look into the county laws for Maui before you fly. When I was there it was OK to fly, but I was warned by someone that there were rumblings of banning recreational drones within the local legislature. Send me a link of your flight once you post it too!

Why the titanic music though
@DailyDroneFPV3 жыл бұрын
This musical piece is called Canon in D (aka Pachelbel's Canon) and it is one of the most famous and recognizable pieces of music in history, and it was written in 1680 (long before Titanic). If the producers chose to use this music in the Titanic movie, that was probably because it is a musical classic that fits the time period. I have no idea, as I have not seen that movie in over a decade. I chose this piece for my flight because it is very popular, iconic, beautiful, and this particular recording is a royalty free version. It has nothing to do with Titanic.
