I'm from the UK and my fiance is from Zambia, we are thinking of moving to Canada as my own government is making it very difficult (and expensive) for me to live with my own family in my home country. Hopefully I will be graduating as a physiotherapist this year, so with the Canadian system I can earn much more there than the UK too. But I don't see us staying there long term, I think we will invest our savings into a homestead in Zambia where people are welcoming and the sun doesn't hide for half the year.

it's insane: to prove that you're financially responsible you have to get into debt in order to pay it off to show that you can get out of debt. that's insanity. i will never have a credit card. i don't want debt and i don't want to spend money that i don't have. any woman who's more interested in my credit rating than me is a gold digger and can get in the sea.
