Hi everybody, is it silly thought to turn off your smartphone to have 100% battery saver and privacy? I do and did not like smartphones for decades, but now I moved to a country where it is 99% demanded. So for me the WiFi is on if I need data/Internet in house and the data on SIM is turned off. At night it goes on Airplane mode. My Google Pixel 8a runs 8 days on a battery charge. Back to the question, is turning data off and just telephone/SMS the best for battery/privacy? I also put my smartphone away from me to be sure, or is that silly?

The Facebook Nazi kicked me off of The Facebook months ago and insist that I upload my I.D. to them. I am not going to do that. I also used a pseudonym to create the account with a FRESH Yahoo ! account when I created The Facebook account. So that tells me they have NO idea who I am, and I am certainly not going to tell them. Back in the days of America Online, I established a pseudonym for myself and I used that pseudonym for everything online. I also made it known to all my friends, to use my pseudonym in their contact lists IF they MUST have me listed, but asked them to not list me. If they're real friends, they will respect your wish to address you as you wish to be addressed, and not list you. Learned those lessons the hard way, then a lapse in Judgement with my very first Yahoo ! account, that I thought would be a good idea to have my real name, so that I can be verified that I am in fact the person I represent. But that was also an error on my part and I had to go through years of torture just to plug that hole. My bank information is still leaking somewhere. I had to close accounts and re establish new accounts at new banks just to be sure the old problems wouldn't come back too. We need to go back to a lot of the old ways in doing things. No one should be able to transact finances on the Internet, and no one should be able to go onto the Internet and file a tax return as someone else and collect a refund or worse, owe, and the real person doesn't know anything about it, and gets audited. People should be required to take their W2 tax forms to a CPA or tax service, with valid I.D. and no electronic refunds. Paper trails, so you have proof if a snake tries to bite. I love your videos and you. You are an excellent teacher, and I relate to almost everything you say. Particularly about forgetting what E-mail you use for what, the passwords, and that kind of thing. Even worse is if you use a proxy E-mail or a disposable E-mail address. Then that can really hose you up too.

I am already working on getting me a degoogled-phone, "working" meaning that I, a technical rooky, have to understand how to make it work once I had one ( especially since I live in Europe) and how I would get help if I had a problem with it. Well, I think if that is the case, there are alternatives, like Apple or Linux, which by the way there are many flavors that are easy for anybody to use so if anyone wants to move to the Linux side and thinks it is hard, I can tell you that depending on the version you are getting, it is like using a Mac! so there is no problem. If you need to run any windows program or games you can use "bottles" or "Wine".

It's important to remember though, that current integrated GPUs in basically any notebook have more AI processing power than the current/coming this year "NPU" components. The "NPU" is just more efficient, so it could run things in the background without causing a noticable slowdown for rhe user.

I destroy Windows 11 spying with my custom ame scripts I hate WIndows updates so I rip it out of the os along with edge, store, the spying, and copilot. I have to test the beta os's to keep up to date on the scripts I have github but since no one seems to be interested I haven't updated it there and could never figure out how to get my github to show up google.
