Grandpa Jones looks like he would rather be literally anywhere else than participating in this.

Anybody whose Dad was gearjamming back in those days can still sing it word for word. The movie version would get your mouth washed out with soap though.

This was a part of the 70’s that I found to be extremely corny. This song ranks up there with disco duck and kung fu fighting. The 70’s was a time of fantastic music but some real stinkers made it on the air.

"Convoy" was filmed in my hometown...for an eight-year-old, to see a Hollywood production in our little town is something I'll never forget. To this day, this song reminds me of home.

In 1976 dad gave me his 1959 Ford truck to drive in High School. My boyfriend lived in High Point. I lived in Sophia. It was long distance to call each other so we decided on a time and we talked by CB radio that dad had in that old Ford and he had in his jeep...Good times...

Started out driving in Alberta from Red Deer to Calgary and out on the Forestry Trunk Road. Moved back to the States after my Dad died, spent 45 years in the seat of Freightliners and KW's. Favorite engine was a 3406 Cat with a Garret t-90 turbo. Specialized in Haz-Mat. Retired over 8 years ago with a few million miles. Loved every minute of it. Stay safe out there !

Back in the seventies I was part of a stage band that performed for some ambassador visiting the city and we split the sets with CW and his band. Anyone remember the "Old Home Fill 'Er Up An' Keep On a-Truckin' Café" commercials?

I remember back in 1973 when a trucker, J.W. Edwards , stopped his truck on I 80 to protest the rising oil prices along with the harassment of Truckers. It began a great big trucker strike all across the nation. Back then gas prices were probably under $.50 a gallon for diesel fuel. This spawned, a bunch of movies and of course this song. My dad drove trucks back then, on the CB he was known as “nitro express”, he hauled dynamite. I remember watching the news every night with my dad. It was real, it was live , dad’s been gone for 20 years now.
