I'm a natural dreamer/astral projector too! For anyone struggling with this, my tip is that if you can't stay in your body, put on a piece of jewelry, preferably something real metal. The weight of it should tether you into your body more, or make it easier for you to stay in. If you want to try to stop altogether, consider a belly ring, if that's an option for you, But i don't recommend that long term for personal safety reasons. Hope that helps someone!

Regarding the first person, if your ancestors and familial Lwa like you, they LIKE you, and it doesn't matter that you're a bit distant. I know from experience as my grandfather was an ougan, as was my great-grandfather, but my father decided to be a Christian pastor. I was born in the US and wasn't nearly as connected to my Haitian side growing up compared to my Jamaican side. That didn't stop me from having myriad spiritual gifts, didn't stop my ancestors (primarily my Haitian ones) from riding for me, didn't stop my Lwa from saving my life. Didn't stop me from knowing Christianity was NOT it for me despite being raised Pentecostal Protestant (the Bible is a nice book, though, and I read it occasionally). I will say, though, when you connect with your spirits, they DO have expectations of you. My spirits absolutely wanted me to learn Creole, and while I still have a ways to go to the level of fluidity I seek, I consider myself a Creole speaker and even use the language with Haitian patients at my job, which I love. My ancestors do expect me to carry on the torch regarding our spiritual practices, no shirking as my dad did (no disrespect). Thankfully, I've always enjoyed the path of spirit and the pursuit of knowledge, and so all is well.
