Might have been a good video. I don't know because the volume was too low to hear. I'm listening on my phone and I got the volume jacked.

One doubt even though this video is three years ago My doubt is should we be wearing glasses to prevent the radioactive source from affecting our eyes

To detect alpha, you need a vacuum Si-detector, not a Geiger counter.

You should not try to shield beta- radiation with a heavy material such as lead. The hi-Z atoms in the lead decelerate the beta- electrons and also change their direction. Both cause the electrons to loose kinetic energy, which is radiated outward as Brehmsstrahlung. This is in the X-ray spectrum and is penetrating and harmful ionising radiation. And it shoots off in any direction.

Pretty sure they can’t penetrate bones and denser materials like bones. That’s why they’re used in x-ray scans if im not wrong

Americium wasn't stopped by paper most likely because you don't have alpha sensitive geiger counter. I'd bet it can only detect beta and gamma. You have most likely measured these two and alpha wasn't present, because count would be much higher. Also alpha source is pretty safe to handle. You don't have to worry about looking at it directly. :)

For 6.3, isn't the answer C because the half-life is equal to 2.4? The half-life should be calculated at the point when 120 count remains since 220 count minus the background radiation of 20 = 200, 200/2 = 100, and 220 - 100 = 120.

I do but as they still secure I'm not releasing any videos about them publicly until they are unlocked, as it messes up mocks and the likes for schools and teachers. And being a teacher, this is something that very much affects me & my classes. Sorry!
