Anything over 69 degrees is too hot? Bro, I live in Norway and that's cool even for Norwegian summers. How is that too hot? Maybe if all you do is sit inside with AC on, I guess.

People love to dump on "Hollywood" as some evil world..but the talent in that town is through the roof, as it is over at Disney. Plus, it's a union town.

Ive honestly been looking for this shade of green for a decade, and I landed on Peppermint green but thats not quite it. Come to find out, even Ngila doesnt even know quite what shade it is. What an enigma. Beautiful all the same.

I was so excited to watch this! Blade runner is my favorite movie. I cosplay and I held out on plans for Rachael for years because I wanted to find the perfect material for her suit. I found a black suiting with metallic silver in it and I can't wait to put it to use.

That was absolutely delightful !!! Just discovering your podcast ! Will definitely follow it closer ! :)) Edit.: If you want some further deep-dive into the LOTR costume-design theory, straight from the sources, I'd suggest you check out the old "Lotr Official Movie Fan Club Magazines" They not only go into the design-process but also manufacturing, to a shocking detail ! :)

It is so nice to find some OTHER needs who want to geek out about the costumes of this film. I love Dune (books and VILLENEUVE films) sooo hard. But I feels like everyone is just giving their bodies' "water of life" over Hans Zimmer's phenomenal score and the Cinematography. But no one is talking about the heavy lifting the costumes were doing.

It doesn't seem to have been the intention, but when I saw the skirting on the Academy uniforms, it brought to mind the defensive skirt of leather or multi-layered fabric strips or lappets worn around the waists of Roman and Greek soldiers (called "pteruges"). Given all the Roman influences on Capitol society, right down to the chariot processions going on for the funerals in this book, I thought that Ms/ Summerville and deliberately reached for a Roman soldier influence. I'm kind of bummed to hear it's just combining standard girls' and boys' school uniforms into one in order to do something different.

Can an English person tell me what is the word used at 26.50 to talk about the base layer of Lucy Gray's skirt? I'm French and I don't understand what it means or even what the word is (the subtiles are saying : potus spree??)

almost jumped out of my seat when i saw this interview!! this is the first episode of your show i've come across and i've immediately subscribed, fantastic interview!! it's so hard to pick a favourite costume but for me it's probably arwen's red gown, the weight of it and the embroidery is just so evocative. special mention to the costumes that are straight out of the book, especially arwen's blue and silver gown from the same scene and eowyn's white wool gown from the two towers. i also really love gandalf the white's costume with the trapunto-style quilted tunic!

I got into this podcast because of the first Crimson Peak ep, so it was a pleasant surprise when I heard you guys were going to talk about Crimson Peak again AND have Kate Hawley featured in it! Thank you so much for posting this. Hope you guys keep it up!!

There are certain boundaries in entertainment that shouldn't ever be crossed. For example, you should never put rape in your book, movie, game, ect, the emotional impact it might have on the story is just not worth how disgusting and disrespectful it is. Even if in real life children would get turned into zombies, you don't add that to your show, the impact it might have emotionally on the viewer's is not worth the depravity involved. Very disappointed.

Dude, the last of us.. IS DEPRAVED the whole point is the hopelessness and horror. It makes SENSE that it's depraved, rape and infection is different. One is a forced sexual experience that can traumatize someone. The other is a stupid yet funny and depraved horror show. Your WHOLE argument is shit.
