What distortion pedal/amp were you using for the sound test? Love how sharp and crisp it sounds. I didn’t know you could make a AZ sound like this, I always thought they lacked high frequencies and note clarity

Awesome video! The comparison video you made of Premium vs Prestige helped me a lot and I got the AZ2402 prestige! It feels like a big upgrade compared to my premium THBB10. Although both are good guitars, the AZ2402 has slightly better fret setup.

So Ive spent several hours playing the Salen Jazz NX6, and it breaks my heart to say it, but I really dont like the neck. Ive been playing for more than 50 years and have a stable of standard rock and jazz guitars, and this is the only one that "demands" I place my thumb in a certain area. I have large hands and find myself at times with my thumb on the bump between the middle and the top flat areas. Which is quite uncomfortable. Although I love its look and sound, I have to listen to my guts (and my thumb) and they say its not the guitar for me. So back it goes. 🙁

Not only does it have the frets but its multi scale as well. When you tune these things it seems that you're supposed to tune a bit differently than usual. (A few cents sharp/flat on certain strings) is that true and doesn't that kind of mess up the idea of true temperament? It's the only thing that puts me off....besides the color. Sure it looks amazing in person but more options would be nice.

RGs usually have very thin necks and it various a bit depending on the model. The AZ and the Quest models are closer to a Fender modern C but maybe a little thinner than that. Both are great but it’s very much down to personal preference.

It’s definitely not for everyone but it’s worth giving it a bit of playing time to see if you just need to adjust or if it’s just not right for you. I also don’t try to think about it and just let my hands play on it like a regular neck.

@guitarguild7336
@guitarguild7336 3 жыл бұрын
The 7 string is one of my favorite ones next to the QX54QM. Had it been a multiscale it would have been preordered within seconds of being released. The 25.5” slant is the only reason why it’s not my favorite of all the models. Ibanez was so close to a Strandberg killer

@@guitarguild7336 i mean it sure did, you know theres alot of neck variation, i have a vintage fender tele, when i changed to Ibanez, bro the neck feels so much easier to play in Ibanez, they are flat easier to bend, but idk everyone has its own problem lol
@guitarguild7336
@guitarguild7336 3 жыл бұрын
It is true that certain factors like neck, radius, scale etc... might feel more comfortable than another for each individual. Finding that sweet spot of preference will definitely help you “execute” more efficiently (as Ibanez would say). Some guitars will feel easier to play than others but you will always be limited to what you can play. A nice guitar will just give you the freedom to play what you want with ease.

There is one big difference between the Q series and the QX: the fretboard radius. The Q has a 12" radius, the QX a 20" radius instead.

You are missing the point just digging into little estetique details like a third screw in the puckup. The whole idea is not taking from others, but creating an ergonomic, smaller and leightweight modern instrument, designing from the ground up, just like the strandberg in your hands. (I also own one lol) anyway, I think the Qs are really cool and great looking at working musician budget, Im sure they will be well received and get a big cut of the headless market. Better pricing, with the Ibanez name, marketing wise, finally it has been done
@guitarguild7336
@guitarguild7336 3 жыл бұрын
We dug into a few more important points than just the aesthetic details of a third screw. There’s about 17 more minutes of points we were making on the topic. We also hope this will do better within the headless market, but after also speaking with a few others in the community including a guitar luthier, they have also agreed the angled frets below the 8th to 9th fret serve no purpose. With Thomann having EXCEPTIONALLY better pricing-to-features when it comes to their headless, we will just have to wait and see!
@jazznotes3802
@jazznotes3802 2 жыл бұрын
@@guitarguild7336 The angled frets helps in reaching for them big stretchy chords. (According to Jack Gardener, who’s played them) Everyone that’s actually played one thinks they’re incredibly playable with the fret slant. So I think Ibanez has got something interesting going on with these Q series guitars.
