My favorite road to travel on! The truck stops, the loves and petro in portage. Mcness in Lodi, the cornfields, big traffic from cars and semi’s in the nation and Canada. And the big power lines, interstates create memories good and bad.

Even before I watched this video I knew about the impact of railroad incidents on train engineers and crew. I am very conscious on many safety topics which obviously include railroad safety. I always felt sorry for the engineers as like anyone else they don’t want to hurt or kill anyone so when they see someone on the tracks they usually blow the train horn or whistle and apply the brakes and when a incident happens they often suffer from ptsd and in many cases have to live the rest of their lives living with guilt and trauma. Unfortunately even when the brakes are applied there is no way that a train will be able to stop in time meaning that unless the person gets off the tracks a collision is inevitable and engineers know well that no matter what they do they will be unable to avoid a collision as the train will be unable to stop in time and by the time that it stops it will have already collided with the person or vehicle.

KIEL - The U.S. Post Office on Fremont Street in Kiel could soon be known as the “Trooper Trevor J. Casper Post Office Building.” The designation would honor Kiel native Trevor Casper, a Wisconsin State Patrol trooper who was killed in the line of duty during his first solo assignment on March 24, 2015.

Casper was 21 when he was gunned down by an armed robbery and murder suspect outside a Pick ’n Save store just off Interstate 41 in Fond du Lac. He was the youngest police officer killed in the line of duty in Wisconsin history. Before Casper collapsed, he returned fire, killing the suspect, Steven Timothy Snyder, before the shooter could harm busy shoppers who were just around the corner in the bustling strip mall parking lot.

One morning during the summer of 2022, I was driving eastbound on "5 1/2 mile Road" between I94 and Howell Road. The speed limit of a section of 5 1/2 mile Road drops from 50 mph to 35 mph for a short distance. Then it goes back to 50 mph. This particular morning, a Wisconsin State Trooper pulled up behind me quickly to tailgate my rear bumper while I was in the 50 mph section. He didn't light me up or go around, he just tailgated me. As I was approaching the point where the speed limit dropped to 35 mph, I began to suspect the trooper was trying to intimidate me into driving beyond the 35 mph speed limit change by not giving me room to slow down. I thought to myself _"that jackass."_ However, I got off the gas anyway and allowed my car to slow down to the reduced speed limit. When our vehicles reached Howell Road, I turned right (southbound) and the trooper turned left (towards Burger King). 😡

Flex Lane monitors? If these people are state employees, I can see why the flex lane confusion is so great. My guess is they are trying to monitor the flex lane while working from home to I suppose.
