The grind is real in these games…also the worst part about them imo.

I think they want to avoid challenges with other players because of dissapointments not to win and upseted / angried players. And I understand it I would also avoid bad feelings in a game. A game should be fun.

I could be wrong about this, but I have a feeling that Compile Hearts are testing the waters here. I wouldn't be surprised if we see a Neptunia racing game get released sometime in the future.

I'll probably end up buying it, simply cause Uzume is the protagonist, but 40$ is a pretty hefty price for 3-6 hours of gameplay.

I think they should have balanced the grind and added easier modes when they ported they game from a coin box to the ps2.

I'll always love this Series, it got me through one of the darkest and hardest periods of my life and it I will always be grateful for it.

Got into Neptunia the same reasons you did, I was a shameless weeb (should have had more shame, but I digress) and saw mk.II in GameStop. I loved the characters, the themes, the waifu-ized versions of the video game industry (Arfoire being R4 sealed my fate in being enthralled with the writing). I have to say I disagree with you on some points. I for one LOVE the fanservice. And so does most of the fan base. That's okay if you don't, but I got the feeling that you were down playing the appeal of the fanservice, listing it as a negative that you should ignore in favor of the good writing and lovable characters. Neptunia was made with a love of fanservice. And while I'd agree with you that, a decade in with the 'same' combat system was getting boring, I and many others as well love turn based combat. I love Neptunia's combat and I wish you went over how in each installment they improved on it, perfecting it to the point where it felt repetitive. But each installment has slightly different mechanics, and I loved having to strategize my equipped combo strings to synergize with each character and each weapon. Solid video! I was very happy to see this pop up in my feed as I feel Neptunia is amazing and that despite how burnt out we all feel, we see hope on the horizon with Sisters vs. Sisters. JP voices > EN voices though, fight me! 😈😜

I just started playing this completed a run with Goku and the NEVER BEFORE SEEN fighter was Ultimate Gohan! And for beating him you double your earned xp for the whole run. I think it skipped since you were playing as the same character.

I stumbled into it just before the original came out. I showed up at gamestop when they opened and bought the limited edition. I now buy all the main games limited editions. I like the games but theyre not for everyone. Theyre my favorite to buy limited editions for some reason. 🤷‍♂️ even got the japanese only VII limited edition. I dont collect like that for anything else.

Hyped about getting my preorder of Neptunia Game Maker R - PS5 this week.

Neptunia ps3 was my first one to; and I didn't really understand much english at that time, and I still finished that game....God I love Neptunia XD Not only is the Nep Nep herself Deadpools quirky little sister, but the Nepunia series is the only Series, where all Main characters know that there in a video game XD Most of them try to not break the 4th wall to often, only rarly for jokes and the true ending :3

I randomly decided to buy Neptunia Rebirth 1 one night on my Vita and quickly loved it. I don't know what compelled me to give it a chance cause I might have only vaguely heard about it somewhere else and I honestly couldn't tell you where, but I'm glad I did. While I did struggle with nearly every boss fight, the writing and characters kept me going to see what could possibly happen next. I also got a friend interested in the game who would go on to become an even bigger fan of the series than I am. I own nearly every game in the series in some form along with the anime and a cool wall scroll I found at Anime Midwest.

this game is NOT as bad as people pretend. the gameplay is just bland. the music is great honestly and the visuals are killer its great to play with friends so you can pass of the controller and get to watch and listen too

Not to anger you in any way but I played some of the Neptunia Games and they are low effort, low graphics and low writing and I had abolutely no fun withever gameplay (if you can name that shallow systems that) they thrown at me. I think not one of them would get 4 on a 4/10 score system.

Top Nep is one of my favorite Games 10/10

Nice playthrough! Actually love this game. It's a basic 8 bit platformer, but among the Sonic 8 bit titles, I think it stands above the rest for performance and soundtrack. The version you are playing has a better aspect ratio, but the GameGear version actually has a few minor quality of life improvements thanks to having a little extra dev time, notably, the bottom of the screen won't automatically kill you when doing the vertical platforming in Jungle Zone and the emerald in Labyrinth no longer requires invincibility. Also, of all the 8 bit releases, this one suffers the least from screen crunch on GameGear, so I've been pretty happy playing this in Origins (though, an option to play the Master System version would be nice anyhow). And honestly, there IS slowdown still present in the GameGear version, but compared to literally EVERY other GG Sonic game, it runs the best. Also, sadly, Origins does nothing to mitigate any of the slowdown in any of the GG titles.

Also I wouldn't call the year's after mega dimension a " drought" or " mishandled " as those games wer still great imo( you can argue cyber dimension is a mainlike game as it takes place in the main dimension) there wasn't a single neptunia game mainline or spinoff that i didn't like( starting from rebirth 1). Also come on the gameplay isn't that bad

I genuinely enjoyed all the spin-off( neptunia rpg and cyber dimension are peak)and the fanservice also adds to the charm (yes i am one of them). I mean its not like the series is dying or anything we have 2 new games in 2024 already

The mysterious character that "no one's ever seen before" at the end of Z survivor mode does exist. It isn't a new character however. At the end of round 9 there is a chance of a 10th challenger to appear. You have the choice to accept or to decline the challenge. If you decline you still win the game. If you accept and win you will gain double exp. If you lose, you will lose everything you gained up to that point. It only happened to me once and I don't know what triggers the 10th fight.

I enjoyed the first game, but then lamented my purchases of a couple more after it. Each time, I felt more and more sickened with myself for feeling fooled by the art style. Like it looks really nice, the characters are well designed, but oh the writing...it's meanders so much, and the gameplay is so braindead. I developed a deep seated hatred for this series and eventually stopped buying and playing any of the games with the vain hope that maybe the next one will restore my faith in it. Because there was something about the first game that felt special when they actually added a pinch of drama and actual stakes to the story. But anyways, all that said, I'm gonna watch your video with an open mind and see if I can at least understand why other people like this series so much. I don't know if you'll win me over and influence me in taking this series out of my hidden games on Steam, but I will at the very least consider your points and think about them much despite my chargin.
