I upgraded my late 2009 21.5-inch iMac with an SSD, more RAM, and a new CPU, and also installed OCLP macOS Ventura. It feels so cool and pretty much like it's brand new, so I don't need to buy a new one.

I felt the same way when I did this one and a few more after. These machines love Samsung SSD’s and can really be surprisingly stable on one. 💯 Glad to hear you’re up and running well and thank you for your comment my friend. 🙏

Hi, I have a 2013 Imac (SSD, 16 of RAM and an i5 quadcore) which i bought last week and it's running Ventura a bit slow sometimes, do you know if that's an issue with Ventura or it does in fact run everything slow because it's old? I'm considering fresh installing Monterey but i'm not sure if it would improve anything

What SSD my friend? This computer is picky and it only really fairs well with Samsung SSD’s. That would be my first suggestion. Second is are you running the latest OCLP? Maybe try the newest with Sonoma 14.5. I’ve been noticing good speed changes and performance improvements on older iMacs like this lately. Has to be Samsung SSD tho for these iMacs. 🙏

@@TechInsomnia it's not a Samsung, but when I bought it, from a friend, it was working fine, he was even using as main computer for image editing (Lightroom and photoshop). when I received it, I deleted his user and created a new one for myself, and after that it became so useless and slow that I couldn't do anything properly, It was slow even to open Chrome and type anything... I soon realized that I had to reinstall OCLP in that new user too and run the root patches. it improved a lot after that, like 90% but I'm still getting the occasional slow moments and lack of performance... Perhaps if I erase the whole SSD and do a clean install, that would help?

I am facing a problem, from the past month I was facing Blue screen errors I run the command something it was resolved but yesterday my pc was stuck to the Go in the the bios F2 or Delete, I've unplugged the hard drive, issue was still there, but when I unplugged the SSD then I was able to go in the bios so that means My SSD is 💀 or something else PLZ HELP

This one ended up with a bunch in its time after building. I was a clients budget build for until they could save up for the board, CPU, RAM and GPU they wanted. Built a few of these in my time. All different but similar in the sense that they were budget friend stepping stones to gaming builds that happened in steps.

The plastic screw inserts below my laptop hinges broke so this is useless because I could break the screen if I do it like this. my laptop hinges is not lubricated for a few months and it felt stiff now so that might be the culprit.

Most of the time you have to really feel where the pressure is being out directly in the plastic. Certain laptops that have come through my work shop like yours I’ve used the other hand to press down near the hinges while closing to insert the plastic doesn’t break or snap further. Let me know if that works with yours my friend. 🤞
