When you change the player's collision layer to 2, why doesn't the player fall through the map, since the TileMap Collision Mask is set to 1?

Trying to make a side scroller where you can plane in two lanes like Top Hunter Roddy and Cathy but I can’t figure out how to make my character jump from one lane to the other I already try to disable the colission when the character jumps but still doesn’t work, I also try z index but also didn’t work.

By far the best tutorial I've seen so far. I'd love to see videos where you look at how to implement things from existing games. For example, from Super Mario Bros, we could look at how to change the Player from small to big when they pick up the mushroom and back again when they take damage, the fire flower, the invincibility star that only lasts for a set amount of time, etc. with the Sprite changes, and gain/loss of abilities.

how can I set up visual studio for using unity game engine ?

Anyone getting super jittery movement? The player looks super funky for me :/ edit: fixed by setting max fps and physics ticks per second both to the same number. This works okay, but it means my game is locked at 60fps, and I can't utilize my 144hz monitor. I could set them both to 144, but idk how that would work for someone on a 60hz display. In theory I would create a setting that lets players choose their fps, and then it changes both values, but I don't know UI yet(or if I can change these things in code)

hey, i'm trying to put this on my main menu scene. I've been created the main menu using UI Toolkit. When i was implemented this, it seems the image is blocking my UI layer so i can't interact with it. any suggestion on this ?

For those who have not yet tried godot, not only is it free but also a tiny download and no account. The barrier of entry is just a download button rather than gigs of space and needing to screw around with account creation.
