Awesome vid! We own 13 RDX 95K miles , bought the spark plugs and looking to do them soon. What kind of torque spec wrench is that one you have? Can you share the link for it? Is it 3/8 inch or 1/2 inch drive? Thanks!

@4Runner21. Thanks, glad you liked the video. The torque wrench I used was from Tacklife and it was 3/8" from Amazon. But I just checked and they don't sell that torque wrench anymore. However, they have one that is pretty similar to what I have. Here is the link to it: ARUCMIN 3/8-Inch Drive Click Torque Wrench (10-100 ft.-lb./15-135 Nm) Dual-Direction Adjustable Torque Wrench Set a.co/d/3gog5Fb. Hope it helps! 😊

@delinquense... Yes. Unfortunately with this model, you will need a unit for each door. There is a different model that will be able to work with two separate doors, and I believe it is the MSG200, like you said. But I don't remember.

nobody doing videos on these mentions you must have a hub to use the app away from your home wifi zone.
@getoats
@getoats 9 ай бұрын
You actually do not need a hub. But you do need to connect your Meross Garage Opener to your WiFi so that it has Internet access. That way you can control/monitor the garage opener from your app on your phone. And of course you'll also need Internet access on your phone as well. So if you don't have WiFi on your phone, then at least you'll need cellular data.

Very good video. I have 2013 RDX that needs new battery. Does it matter if the negative cable is disconnected first followed by the positive cable? Someone told me to remove grounded cable first.
@getoats
@getoats 10 ай бұрын
@barryt.8632. Actually yes, it does matter which terminal you remove first. And it's always the negative terminal first before removing the positive terminal. There actually is a very good reason for it... And it's to prevent you from accidentally electrocuting yourself (in case there still might be voltage coming out of the battery). And if there still is voltage coming from the battery and you touch the positive terminal first while your body touches the car, then your body is basically completing the circuit and you will get a nice blast of electricity through your body. 😬 Definitely not a good thing. So disconnect the negative terminal first and then disconnect the positive terminal. 👍

If oil is on coil boot it’s usually a valve cover leak. If there was a head gasket leak it would have coolant in your cylinder or oil in the coolant.

Head gasket leak is not going to leave oil residue. If you had a head gasket leak you would be loosing compression and changing plugs would do no good. Usually on plugs with oil on them and boots is indicative of a valve cover gasket and or spark plug grommets failing.
@getoats
@getoats Жыл бұрын
@royquesada5295... Yes, that is true what you said about the head gasket leak. I was only mentioning that if you noticed oil on the spark plugs, that it could mean that you are experiencing a head gasket leak. And yes changing spark plugs have nothing to do with fixing the problem, but this video was mainly to show users how to replace the spark plugs on their RDX. 😉 But you are also right that it could also be a valve cover gasket or spark plug grommet failure as well. 👍 So thanks for the comment and advice. 🙂

I bought a 2015 Acura at 80000 km, now is 105000km. My city fuel consumption is like 13 to 14 kmpl. I don’t know if I should change the spark plugs 😢
@getoats
@getoats Жыл бұрын
@RAY li.. so according to the Acura owners website, it is recommended to replace the spark plugs every 60k miles. Which in your case you should. But of course it's just a recommendation. Can you change it a little bit later? Sure. But I wouldn't put it off too long. Will it help with gas mileage? You probably will notice a slight difference, depending upon how bad of a shape the spark plugs were before. I could only get at most 20mpg in the city. Don't know how you got 13kmpl in city, but that is how much I usually get in the freeway sometimes. 😬 Hope this helps.

Can you control these with HomePod/Hey Siri? When connecting these to your HomeKit, do they automatically work or is there a different set up process you need to follow?
@getoats
@getoats Жыл бұрын
@Jason Yang... Yes. You can control these lights using either your Home Pod or Siri. You just have to set it up using Apple Home kit. For setting it up with Apple Home kit, you can scan the QR code they supply you with when you bought the light bulbs. And then from there you can follow the directions on how to name it and set it up. It's a slightly different process than what I show here in this video. Hope this helps. 😉

Great video. I have a 2014 RDX, so same engine I beleive. When I called the dealership they wanted $1050 to change the plugs, because they claimed I would need the valves adjusted when changing the plugs. Got no clear answer why, other than it's recommended. Do you agree?
@getoats
@getoats Жыл бұрын
@Bill Maniscalco... So that depends on the mileage of your car and if it is due. I would refer to the owners.acura.com website for more details on when you need to perform a valve adjustment. Otherwise you do not need to do it at the same time as your spark plug replacement. Another way to know if you need your valves adjusted is if you hear from the valve train. If you hear it, then most likely you'll need a valve adjustment. Hope this helps.

if there is oil on the spark plug? you said this a is a head gasket leak?
@getoats
@getoats Жыл бұрын
@Ash Plumber... So yes, oil on the spark plugs can be caused by anyone of the following problems: bad valve cover gaskets, worn spark plug o-rings or valve guides, a faulty head gasket or a broken piston ring. Having a mechanic diagnose the issue might tell you more exactly what the problem is. Hopefully it's not too major and that you are able to resolve the problem. Good luck.

Thank you so much for sharing the easy and professional way to replace battery. Have a quick question if I may, do we need to use a memory saver to save the memory before replace the battery? As the dealer charges more and claim memory saver is required…not quite sure. I have a RDX2014 . Thank you

You're amazing omg! How much does this method change for a 2020? Acura was performing maintenance on my car and wanted to charge me $350. Then had the audacity to say "well as a female I don't think you want to do it yourself". Man listen I only let you do the maintenance so if anything goes wrong you're liable. I've changed my own oil completely and I'm competent enough to perform all other maintenance since my pops is a mechanic I learned. The freaking gull! Old fart stuck in the 40's

nice! but why you need 100% new brake fluid in the system? we will change it every 3 years anyway, right?
@getoats
@getoats Жыл бұрын
@Bryan Lee... You will need to use at least close to 100% of new brake fluid because old brake fluid loses its performance over time and is prone to absorbing water over time as well, which in turn can be disastrous even if there is like 10% old fluid left in the reservoir. Cause then that 90% new fluid get contaminated and will eventually lose its performance much quicker than if you used at least 100% new fluid. So it is recommended to not mix the old with the new and to replace every 3 years with cose to 100% new fluid if possible... For your safety and form the best performance for your car. Hope that helped. 😉

@Anthony Cissell... Thank you. Glad it helped you with the issues you were experiencing with your Acura. I had a similar problem too, but it was fixed by replacing the transmission fluid and filter, plus a software update. Had to take it to the dealership to get it fixed. Luckily it was still under warranty. 👍. And that issue only happened when we were going up hill. So if you're still having the same issue, try replacing you tranny fluid and filter and then take your vehicle into dealership to do a software update. And I will definitely try and post more videos in the future, after things have settled down a little more at home. Lots of changes going on, so my videos are backlogging. Lol. Oh... And sadly, one of the major changes involved the selling of our Acura. 😢 But we did end up getting a bigger Volvo... So be on the lookout for new Volvo videos instead. 😉

@antmon antmon. Sorry to hear about that. I never had that issue yet, knock on wood. But I did have an issue with the app where sometimes when I open the garage manually through the wall switch, then I open the app to use it to close the door, the app still shows the door is closed. So I have to refresh the app and then it correctly shows the door is open. Then I can click to close the garage door. A little annoying sometimes cause it takes extra time to refresh the app and then I can close the door.
