From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Radio Uylenspiegel is a bilingual Northern French free radio station whose slogan is 'The voice of Flanders'. The radio station broadcasts on the frequency 91.8 FM with a transmission power of 500 watts. Both French and the local Flemish dialect are spoken. Everything is arranged by a team of volunteers and permanent employees. Their transmission mast is located on the Kasselberg and their transmission range includes the Hazebroek, Kassel, Dunkirk, Sint-Omer and Lillepoort zones (Ypres). Radio Uylenspiegel bears the name of the Flemish fictional folk hero Tijl Uilenspiegel. The Flemish character is aimed at the French-Flemish and the Flemish from the Westhoek. She wants to promote and preserve the Flemish character of the French Westhoek. A wide range of music is played, ranging from old traditional music, metal, blues and electro to accordion music. There are also cultural programs. History The Belgian state had introduced a state monopoly on radio after the Second World War. Advocates of free radio started pirate stations at sea. These channels were illegal and the government tried to get them off the air. In the late 1970s, the once so popular offshore channels had seen their day and in 1978 the first pirate channels started on land. Pioneers were Eau noire in Wallonia and Radio Uylenspiegel, which operates from Northern France. Radio Uylenspiegel started on January 1, 1978 in Kassel, they had two batteries, cables, short metal antennas, a portable tape recorder and a radio transmitter that was about the size of a shoebox. They entered the church of Kassel on a Sunday afternoon, at 3 p.m. the broadcast started with the Flemish children's song “Jan mynen man” and ended at 4 p.m. with the “Reuzelied”. The small radio transmitter had a range of several tens of kilometers, listeners from Steenvoorde, Hazebroek, Sint-Mariakappel, Sint-Silvesterkappel, Zerkel, and Boeschepe received the signal. The radio station has a Flemish character, the programs aim to defend and preserve the Flemish language and culture in French Flanders. Traditional Flemish music and beloved songs were sent to the airwaves. Employee Pascal Vanbremeersch was taken by the gendarmerie for questioning the day after the broadcast. The radio was confiscated on January 15, '78, as well as on May 28. In the early 1980s, Uylenspiegel was finally allowed to broadcast when the FM frequencies were liberalized.

Goeie nacht ik weet niet naar wie ik moet aanspreken maar ik ben verslaafd aan de gedichten ik had gehoord dat Jan Van Veen overleden is ik heb vroeger toen ik 18 jaar was luisterde ik iedere avond en nacht😂 ik ben een tijdje gestopt met luisteren en toen ik dat hoorde van Jan V Veen ✨😥😥 ben ik weer aan het luisteren maar ik wil meer van hem horen toen hij nog leefde 😂❤
