9:58 This is not asphalt, this is portland cement concrete. And those guys out there with hand tools working on the new concrete pavement would really get a laugh at the suggestion than they only need to sit at the controls with a cup of coffee. The author of this video must be an idiot. 10:37 Chinese Communist Party style social manipulation. 11:06 Watch this guy’s look of disgust as he walks his motorbike off the road to get around this trap. I wonder what would happen if you put a blank piece of cardboard in front of your face? Maybe a fake helmet cutout to fool the computer? How about if you run the red light? Notice nobody else can go either since the light won’t change, what if the motorcyclist without a helmet just settles in to see how long the traffic jam gets? Around here that screen would probably be removed or destroyed, and then you’d just have a malfunctioning traffic light and people calling for it to be fixed as they run the red light. 13:55 What if there’s no empty area to the side of the target vehicle? 14:38 That’s not paving, that’s a chip seal operation. Again, the author doesn’t know the subject matter. 15:35 One of the most useless road maintenance operations is crack sealing. It’s a waste of money because it doesn’t fix anything, and in many cases makes things worse. Every year I see this sequence: 1. Pavement marking crew paints fresh lines on the pavement. 2. Crack seal crew covers freshly painted lines with tar-like sealant. 3. Lines remain covered until next year. 4. Next year: wash, rinse, repeat. I also see roads get rougher from the effects of crack sealant, and new asphalt pavement cracking before it has cooled because of the thermal-mechanical effects of the sealant on the underlying pavement. Of course they are careful to perpetuate the problem with new sealant next year. Don’t invent robotic crack sealing machines, just stop sealing cracks! Unless it’s an overall seal job like a chip seal, it’s not worth the effort and cost. 21:40 Sigh... again, the author doesn’t know what’s happening in the video. This is not a replacement for asphalt pavement, it’s typically used to rehabilitate the surface of a worn asphalt road. In some cases it’s used as a relatively cheap, albeit temporary, surface to keep down the dust on dirt or gravel roads. Typically after spraying tar, the next step is to spread stone chips in the tar. It’s called a chip seal. 22:00 Looks rather vulnerable. I can see that getting destroyed in less than a year on some busy highways. 22:41 Not cold plastic, this is thermoplastic which is heated until it melts, then applied to the road as a ribbon or dots. Nothing new here, this has been used for many decades. 23:59 Automated speed traps don’t work so well when you consider that in many places a machine cannot give out a speeding ticket, only a police officer can do that. Imagine when someone goes to court and says they would like to face their accuser, and there is no accuser. Case dismissed! 28:42 There’s your cold plastic pavement marking. Yes, they make a permanent version too which goes on in much the same way. I have to agree with the people who say they were click baited. Eventually KZfaq will be nothing but these dumb videos which unfortunately provide just enough entertainment to keep you watching, but they don’t do you any good.

8:33 Methinks one is playing fast and loose with the truth on this one. Either that or there's a bunch of about five roads that appeared out of nowhere, just to disppear again later.

spikes to keep people from entering an area aren't new. There are garages in Houston from the 60's that have them to keep people from going the wrong way.

9:59, "an asphalt paver that mixes cement." It's not asphalt if there's cement involved. If it's a road surface, it's not cement, it's concrete.

The rock drop at 4:50 wasn't a case of things going wrong (I don't think). This is a common method to unload gravel when building roads (drop it while you drive).

3:05 - Eh? That's just baffling. Isn't anybody watching the Merkin 'football' match?🏈👀 Is the game too dull to hold anyone's attention? I could understand there being half-time entertainment (although I loathe such nonsense), but there's definitely a game happening behind that jerking, twerking band. At a rugby (🏉) or regular football match (what some peeps call 'saarkuh' ⚽👀) those annoying musicians would be pelted with meat pies and bottles or beaten to a pulp by angry fans for daring to interrupt the game. 😁
