"OMG I bought a budget, Korean-built budget guitar and I got a budget, Korean-built guitar." These fools need to realize they aren't going to get a real PRS until they get into the, minimum, $1500 price range. I have a real PRS Tremonti II guitar. It was over $4000. It's both a work of art and a perfected instrument of music science. Don't buy a budget, foreign-built, beginner-level guitar and expect to get the same quality as an American built Gibson or PRS. Obviously, some Japanese guitars are the exception to the foreign-built caveat as there are some excellent built Japanese Jacksons running around out there that can keep up with the PRS or the Gibson American models, but they are going to cost you about the same as their American competitors and have similar quality. Don't buy budget guitars expecting the same fit and finish as their American/Japanese made upper-end counterparts.

After buying a Helix, I recommend, DEFINITELY, get some good IRs. I had the HD500x about 2 weeks before upgrading and felt like the cabs on the HD500x were a lot more pleasing. I can't describe it. My recorded tones were better than they were with my tube amp. On the Helix, I feel the included cabs really don't capture the feel of each amp's unique qualities. I plugged some of IRs in and VOILA, everything came to life. The SLO sounds like an SLO, the Diezel, the Uberschall, etc. Couldn't be happier and now the upgrade really feels stratospheric compared to the HD500x.

B sounds like what acds were using in the mid 70s a bit more raw but still punchy

Thanks! Very useful video, and specially I like the suggestion to compress just the lows of the guitar sound. I'd like just to mention few more points: - the compressor attack is always immediate; a longer attack time means only that the compressor will take more time to reach the target but it will start compressing always immediately (but as you said a longer attack time will allow more transients to be audible) - the Helix attack time in all the compressors is wrong or weird: it is much faster than what the parameter says, unlike any other compressor plugin; Helix does the attack time its way... (Helix release time has a similar weird behaviour) - the Helix 3 band comp (as you noted) requires +3dB gain level even when it doesn't work, just to get volume parity

I have bought the hss version. The pickups are disappointing. The guitar itself is good.

it does have also another use. just have a look to any Helix factory preset making use of Cali V30 cabs (like the PV Vitriol one), one mic is delayed of 0.02ms, NO panning of any kind, and it does sound great, better then at 0.00ms. this add-on really deserves deep exploration 😄

I have a 1st gen SE tremonti, a 2023 SE Tremonti, 2024 SE McCarty, a 2007 SE Allender, absolutely zero issues with any of them. Ill take a PRS SE any day of the week. Looking to buy the 2024 CE next and a older korean singlecut. All those problems are super easy to fix.

Great demo.. Sadly i’ve just purchased one from new and it sounds awful.. I’ve a Blackstar practice amp and a Marshall valved amp and on both it sounds awful.. It stays in tune ok but? What are you playing yours through here? any pedals? i just don’t know where to go with mine perhaps it’s going to have to be sent back..

The issue with the switch could be the switch itself or some grounding issue. In any case, this should not happen in an $800 guitar. I don't even see this with the cheap stuff.

I have one of these and they are definitely worth the money over the standard player ( I used to have one of them as well ) the neck is wider and the rolled finger board edges make for a way more comfortable playing experience and the pickups are better to .. so yes it's worth the price tag
