Wow Bill. Better update your graph with the current facts now that your wish of Govt conteol over money has been realized. Since the Gov't under prince Justin decided to once again print the money non stop, he has more than doubled our debt in only 6 years. Better re-examine history. Your chosen 1974 date is very telling when the debt started multiplying. Who was our dictator then, none other than Pierre E Trudeau (1968-1984 except 1979) taking us from $18B debt to >$500B debt. His son took the debt from approx $650B to over $1300B in only 6 years. Do we really want politicians printing the money when "the budget will balance itself"?. I suggest that spend-crazy politicians are the problem, with the banking system merely being their willing accomplices.
